Abstract: Reinforcing filaments or fibers, such as aromatic polyamide (aramid) fibers, can be reliably measured and consistently mixed into asphalt cement concrete by soaking the fibers in a wetting agent, then severing them to a desired length, and mixing the segments with other ACC ingredients. The wetting agent holds the fibers together loosely, so they can be distributed more uniformly throughout the ACC without clumping. The wetting agent soaks into the ACC mixture and/or evaporates, leaving the reinforcing fibers behind.

Abstract: A method of manufacturing a velvet plush article includes the steps of: weaving a greige cloth by interweaving face yarns and backing yarns, wherein the face yarns are selected from single-ply bright trilobal yarns and two-ply yarns and the backing yarns are selected from FDY or DTY yarn; pre-processing the greige cloth by brushing, first setting, singeing and second setting the greige cloth sequentially; dyeing and/or printing the greige cloth; and finishing the greige cloth by softening, drying, brushing, stentering, heat-setting, singeing, shearing and final heat-setting the greige cloth. Accordingly, a velvet plush article having superior smoothness and softness for providing a superior touch and feel comfort is achieved. The velvet plush article may be a velvet plush throw or blanket, or a velvet plush cloth for further processing.

Abstract: A device for finishing woven denim textiles is described which, proceeding from unfinished goods, is supposed to be brought to predetermined reference values for finished width, skew and woof thread density. The device is supposed to be designed for continuous operation for regulating all three reference values. According to the invention, a stretching device, such as a rack or a loop dryer, and a shrinkage system for continuous throughput of the woven denim textile, are arranged one after the other. Directly behind the stretching device, particularly, at the same time, behind the shrinkage system, a single measuring device, preferably as an optical detector having a digital camera, is provided. The measuring device is designed, at the same time, for detecting the actual values of finished width, skew and woof thread density, and is supposed to be connected, in control circuits, with devices for achieving the reference values.
