Abstract: Compositions prepared from an adduct of mono-maleated polyunsaturated vegetable oil and an alcohol mixture comprising a hydrophobic alcohol having at least 9 carbon atoms and methoxypolyethylene glycol having a number average molecular weight (Mn) of at least 350. Metalworking fluids comprising less than 3 wt % of a composition that is an adduct of mono-maleated polyunsaturated vegetable oil and an alcohol mixture comprising an alcohol having at least 2 carbon atoms and methoxypolyethylene glycol having a number average molecular weight (Mn) of at least 350. Methods of improving the stability and/or lubricity of a metalworking fluid using a composition that is adduct of mono-maleated polyunsaturated vegetable oil and an alcohol mixture comprising an alcohol having at least 2 carbon atoms and methoxypolyethylene glycol having a number average molecular weight (Mn) of at least 350.

Abstract: Provided herein is a composition for treating aluminum containing surfaces, wherein the composition includes a reaction product of at least one amine-functionalized organosilane and/or oligomer and/or polymer thereof and at least one fatty acid, wherein the molar ratio of the amino group/s of the at least one amine-functionalized organosilane and/or oligomer and/or polymer thereof and of the at least one fatty acid is 1.2:1 to 1:2, and wherein the at least one amine-functionalized organosilane and/or oligomer and/or polymer thereof is linked to the at least one fatty acid by at least one carboxylic acid/amine salt bond and/or at least one amide bond.

Abstract: The present invention makes the insertion perception during actual surgery to be equivalent to the insertion perception of a catheter into a blood vessel model when water is used as the circulating fluid. A lubricant regulating fluid primarily composed of water is mixed with an aqueous metal salt and a surfactant as a lubricant regulating agent of the lubricant regulating fluid. A cationic surfactant, an anionic surfactant, a nonionic surfactant, or a dipolar ionic surfactant may be used as the surfactant. Also, the metal salt may be an alkaline metal salt, an alkaline earth metal salt, an aluminum salt, a ferric salt, or the like. In an example, the lubricant regulating fluid obtained by mixing an aqueous metal salt with water is prepared, and the lubrication and non-adherent properties of a catheter into a simulated blood vessel model are improved.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a corrosion-protection system suitable for producing aqueous metal treatment and metal processing fluids, particularly corrosion-protection, cleaning and cooling lubricant emulsions. The corrosion-protection system comprises carbonic and/or phosphonic acids, as well as at least one amine with at least one oxybis(alkylamine) unit. Such corrosion-protection systems effectively protect metal surfaces from corrosion and have a high level of water solubility, which is essential for formulating aqueous concentrates for metal treatment and metal processing fluids. The present invention further relates to an aqueous surface-active and corrosion-protecting preparation containing the corrosion protection system and an emulsifier system, as well as an oil-containing water-miscible emulsion concentrate, which supplies the ready-to-use corrosion-protection, cleaning and cooling lubricant emulsions by dilution with water.
