Abstract:
The invention relates to an oleogel-forming agent which comprises at least one highly dispersed triterpene. The invention also relates to an oleogel which comprises a nonpolar liquid in an amount ranging from 80% by weight to 99% by weight based on the total weight of the oleogel and an oleogel-forming agent comprising a highly dispersed triterpene in an amount ranging from 1% by weight to 20% by weight based on the total weight of the oleogel. The invention also relates to a method for producing an oleogel.

Abstract:
A process for producing triterpene alcohol, comprising sequentially conducting the following steps (A) to (C): (A) subjecting γ-oryzanol to alkaline hydrolysis; (B) mixing the alkaline hydrolysate with a low polarity organic solvent, and extracting triterpene alcohol to obtain a triterpene alcohol-containing low polarity organic solvent; and (C) adding water to the triterpene alcohol-containing low polarity organic solvent thus obtained, removing the low polarity organic solvent, and then melting triterpene alcohol in hot water, followed by cooling.
Abstract:
The invention relates to compounds derived from betulin, and to the use thereof in plant pest control, particularly as antifeedants for butterfly larvae, beetles and snails. Further, the invention relates to novel betulin derivatives and methods for the production thereof either directly from betulin, or via intermediates derived therefrom.
Abstract:
To inhibit production of adipocytokines, in particular, adipocytokines that elicit insulin resistance and to prevent onset of pathosis caused by the insulin resistance, or improve the pathosis, the present invention provides an agent or a food or drink which contains a compound having a cyclolanostane skeleton, or an organic solvent extract, a hot water extract of a plant of the family Liliaceae or Gramineae, or a fraction thereof which contains the compound as an active ingredient.
Abstract:
The invention relates to compouns derived from betulin, and to the use thereof as antibacterial agents in pharmaceutical and cosmetic applications.
Abstract:
Novel pentacyclic steroids and pentacyclic D-homosteroids comprising: (i) the tetracyclic steroid ring system or tetracyclic D-homosteroid ring system, respectively; (ii) a C(3) substituent selected from the group consisting of (a) a hydroxyl or carboxyl in the α-configuration and (b) a sulfate or other negatively charged moiety; and (iii) a fused fifth ring, the fused fifth ring comprising a hydrogen bond acceptor, and (a) in the case of the pentacyclic steroid the C(13) and C(17) carbons, or (b) in the case of the pentacyclic D-homosteroid the C(13) and C(17a) carbons, having utility as anesthetics and in the treatment of disorders relating to GABA function and activity.
Abstract:
Disclosed is an agent for prevention or treatment of iron overload disorders, comprising 22β-methoxyolean-12-ene-3β,24(4β)-diol or a pharmacologically acceptable salt thereof.
Abstract:
The invention relates to the field of organic chemistry and medicine, in particular to virology. More specifically the invention relates to a novel chemical compound N′-{N-[3-oxo-lupan-28-oyl]-9-aminononanoyl}-3-amino-3-phenylpropionic acid of formula 1 and to pharmaceutically acceptable salts and prodrug forms thereof exhibiting an anti-viral (anti-HIV) and immunostimulating activity. A method for producing the compound of formula 1 and the use thereof for the manufacture of a medicinal agent exhibiting an anti-viral (anti-HIV) and immunostimulating activity is also disclosed.
