Abstract: The present disclosure relates to an apparatus for preparing an oligomer, the apparatus including: a reactor for oligomerizing a feed stream containing a fed monomer; a stirrer inserted into a hole formed in an upper portion of the reactor; and a solvent transfer line extending inward from a side of the reactor, wherein the stirrer includes a rotating shaft vertically extending downward from the upper portion of the reactor, and a blade having a conical shape whose vertex is positioned at a lower end of the rotating shaft and outer diameter increases from a bottom toward a top, and the solvent transfer line has a plurality of spray nozzles formed in a direction toward the blade.

Abstract: A process for dimerizing and oligomerizing olefins to distillate fuels which manages the dimerization exotherm by diluting it with paraffins which are inert in the dimerization. The olefin stream can also be split and fed to multiple dimerization reactors to further reduce the heat generated. The ethylene feed can also be cooled before entering the dimerization reactor. The paraffins can be obtained from saturating oligomerized effluent.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides base stocks and or diesel fuel, and processes for producing such base stocks and or diesel fuel by polymerizing alpha-olefins and internal olefins. The present disclosure further provides polyolefin products useful as base stocks and or diesel fuel. In at least one embodiment, a process includes: i) introducing, neat or in the presence of a solvent, a feed comprising a branched C5-C30 internal olefin, with a catalyst compound comprising a group 8, 9, 10, or 11 transition metal and at least one heteroatom; and ii) obtaining a C6-C100 polyolefin product having one olefin, a methylene content of from about 1 wt. % to about 98 wt. %, and or a methyl content of from about 1 wt. % to about 75 wt. %. The feed may further include a linear C4-C30 internal olefin, a C2-C30 alpha-olefin, or a mixture thereof.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides a method of flushing a reactor used in the production of linear alpha olefins, including flushing reactor equipment with toluene from a solvent source, wherein the reactor contains by-products from the production of the linear alpha olefins, wherein the by-products include a polymeric material. The flushed toluene containing polymeric material is directed into a separation train containing the linear alpha olefins, wherein the polymeric material is soluble in at least one of the linear alpha olefins. The linear alpha olefins can be separated from the toluene and the toluene is recycled to the solvent source.

The process for producing aromatics has the characters of high yield of aromatics and high selectivity to xylene.

Abstract: A process for producing transport fuel blendstocks comprises providing a first feedstock comprising butane and propane and a second feedstock comprising benzene and dehydrogenating the first feedstock in a first reactor to produce a C4 product comprising butane and butene and a C3 product comprising propane and propylene. The process also comprises oligomerizing the C4 product in a second reactor to produce a first transport fuel blendstock and alkylating the C3 product with the second feedstock in a third reactor to produce a second transport fuel blendstock.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides natural gas and petrochemical processing systems, including oxidative coupling of methane reactor systems that may integrate process inputs and outputs to cooperatively utilize different inputs and outputs in the production of higher hydrocarbons from natural gas and other hydrocarbon feedstocks. The present disclosure also provides apparatuses and methods for heat exchange, such as an apparatus that can perform boiling and steam super-heating in separate chambers in order to reach a target outlet temperature that is relatively constant as the apparatus becomes fouled. A system of the present disclosure may include an oxidative coupling of methane (OCM) subsystem that generates a product stream comprising compounds with two or more carbon atoms, and a dual compartment heat exchanger downstream of, and fluidically coupled to, the OCM subsystem.

Abstract: The invention relates to a process for preparing linear α-olefins, wherein ethylene 1a is conducted into the oligomerization reactor 2 in the liquid phase. The oligomerization reactor 2 has a mechanical stirrer 2a in order to ensure optimal mixing of the liquid ethylene and of the catalyst in the liquid phase. From the top of the oligomerization reactor 2, vaporized ethylene is drawn off together with light α-olefins and a small proportion of the organic solvent. The gas mixture drawn off from the top of the reactor 2 is condensed together with gaseous fresh ethylene 7 by means of heat exchanger 3 and separator 4. The liquid phase drawn off from the separator 4 is conducted by means of circulation pump 5a as liquid ethylene input 1a back into the oligomerization reactor 2. The liquid products of the oligomerization reaction are drawn off 8 laterally from the base of the reactor 2.

Abstract: A renewable biofuel based on a highly efficient batch catalysis methodology for conversion of 1-butene to a new class of potential jet fuel blends. By tuning the catalyst and then using the dimer produced, the carbon use is about 95% or greater. This latter point will be particularly important in the future, where the source of raw materials (i.e., biomass/biofeedstock) is limited.
