Abstract: The present invention relates to carbon fiber composites and a method for producing the same. By reducing specific transition metal ions with a specific concentration, the method for producing the carbon fiber composites can form nanoparticles of a transition metal on an outer surface of a titanium dioxide layer encapsulating a carbon fiber to produce the carbon fiber composites. The nanoparticles of the transition metal directionally contact the titanium dioxide layer, so that the carbon fiber composites have synergistically photocatalytic activity.

Abstract: The present disclosure discloses a device for producing hydrogen through photothermal coupling of solar energy based on a frequency division technology, including a photothermal coupling reactor and a liquid storage tank and so on; during operation, a test sample containing a photothermal catalyst is placed in the photothermal coupling reactor, a light source is divided into an infrared light part and an ultravioiet light part through the solid-state frequency divider, energy of the infrared light part is finally transferred to the photothermal coupling reactor, and the ultraviolet light part is projected onto the photothermal catalyst. The present disclosure is used for an experiment for producing hydrogen through photothermal coupling of catalyst particles, and has advantages of environmental protection, high efficiency, simple and convenient operation and the like.

Abstract: This disclosure relates to an apparatus and a method for photocatalytically splitting H2O, that is either in liquid or gaseous form, to produce hydrogen and oxygen using a radiation source comprising a spectrum of both a high energy component (such as ultraviolet, or UV, comprising visible light) and a low energy component (such as infrared, or IR, also comprising visible light). That is to say, the apparatus and the method both utilise or involve the entire or full spectrum of the radiation source to split H2O. Both the apparatus and method utilise a radiation concentrator assembly that comprises at least one optical element arranged and constructed to direct radiation from the radiation source on to a photocatalyst via a window to photocatalytically split H2O. The produced hydrogen and oxygen may subsequently be stored and used as a fuel source.

Abstract: The invention relates to a device for splitting water into hydrogen and oxygen by thermolysis, that is, by decomposition at elevated temperature. This device comprises: —a reactor (1) having a heating system (2), a first reactor outlet (3), a second reactor outlet (4), at least one water inlet (5) and at least one oxygen filter (6); —at least one hydrogen filter (7); —an oxygen extraction pump (8), a hydrogen extraction pump (9), at least one water injection pump (10); —a hydrogen separation chamber (11) located outside the reactor (1) and containing the hydrogen filter(s) (7); —a heat exchanger (15) comprising an inlet (31) and an outlet (13) for a first circuit and an inlet (17) and an outlet (19) for a second circuit. The particularity of such a device is that it comprises two further heat exchangers (16, 28) each comprising an inlet (14, 27) and an outlet (20, 29) for a first circuit and an inlet (22, 36) and an outlet (23, 34) for a second circuit and in that: —the inlet (31) of the first circuit of a first heat exchanger (15) is connected to an external water inlet (12) via the water injection pump (10), the outlet (13) of the first circuit of the first heat exchanger (15) is connected to the inlet (14) of a first circuit of a second heat exchanger (16); —the inlet (17) of the second circuit of the first heat exchanger (15) is connected to an outlet (18) of the hydrogen separation chamber (11), which is connected to the filter(s) (7) and the outlet (19) of the second circuit of the first heat exchanger (15) is a hydrogen outlet of the device. The invention also pertains to a process for splitting water into hydrogen using the above device.

Abstract: A reactor block to extract hydrogen from water includes a plurality of reactor plates bonded to one another and a plurality of channels formed on at least one side of each reactor plate. Each channel is coupled to a first opening and a second opening disposed on opposite first and second edges of the reactor plate, and a radioactive coating is applied to each channel. The first opening is configured to receive gasified water and the second opening is configured to eject hydrogen generated by radiolysis of at least a portion of the gasified water as the gasified water is passed through the channel coupled to the second opening.
