摘要： A winding device has an axially-adjustable spindle assembly for winding a variety of elongated flexible materials into windings or spiral coils, including without limitation flat-web, garden hose, strand, twined, braided or woven rope or the like, electric cord or even strings of holiday lights and so on. The winding device comprises a pair of side frames, one which is driven in revolutions and the other which is generally stationary. The side frames have inboard surfaces facing each other and outboard surfaces facing away. One side frame has a hollow tubular sleeve extending away from about the center of its inboard surface while the other side frame has a cylindrical spindle stub extending away from about the center of its respective inboard surface. The spindle stub telescopes into the tubular sleeve such that the side frames can revolve/rotate relative each other, close the gap between each other, or pull apart.

摘要： A device for securing excess tie down strap on a base formed by two approximately parallel spaced apart arms held together centrally with at least one crosspin. Spring loaded clevis pins provided at a distal end of each arm serve to open channels formed between the arms so that strap can be wound onto or off of the base by gripping the clevis pins as handles and rotating the device. Each clevis pin is movable retained in one of the arms and is rotatable therein by means of a flanged sleeve bearing located within a bushing provided in an opening in the arm. When the clevis pin is in its closed position, an inwardly extending free end of the clevis pin inserts through an aligned opening in the opposite arm and is retained therein by an outwardly biased detent provided on the free end.

摘要： A strap and cord winder is adjustable for different width straps and reconfigurable for cords. The winder includes a handle assembly with a center shaft and an offset pin for engaging and winding a strap. The center shaft adjustably passes through a face plate creating an adjustable width between a handle arm of the handle assembly and the face plate for winding different width straps. A cylindrical grip is attached to the face plate opposite the handle arm and the face plate attaches to a chest plate. A spool may be positioned on the center shaft between the handle arm and face plate for coiling cords and hoses and the offset pin engages a notch on one end of the spool to couple rotation of the handle to rotation of the spool. The spool includes disks at each end including open ended slots reaching radially to capture cord ends.

摘要： A dispenser is used for dispensing flexible material from a coil. The dispenser includes a frame, a coil carriage mounted to the frame and a brake/payout assembly mounted to the frame. The frame defines an axis of rotation about which the coil carriage rotates. The coil is securable within the coil carriage for rotation with the carriage. The brake/payout assembly is operably mounted to the frame and is moveable toward and away from the coil carriage. The brake/payout assembly is biased toward the coil carriage for engagement with the carriage. The brake/payout assembly engages the coil carriage to slow rotation of the carriage and includes a nip region through which the flexible material traverses during payout.

摘要： An anti-rotation system that prevents undesired rotation of an outer flange of a strap dispenser includes an anti-rotation element mounted to a shaft of the dispenser and the outer flange mounted to the anti-rotation element. The anti-rotation element and the outer flange have complementary mating surfaces such that when the shaft, on which the coil rotates, ceases rotation, the anti-rotation element, engaged with the outer flange, ceases rotation of the outer flange; thus, inertia of the coil cannot force the outer flange to rotate undesireably. A locking element abuts the outer flange to secure the flange to the anti-rotation element and a pin extends out from the shaft and inserts into a helical track in the locking element so that the pin rides in the helical track. The anti-rotation element also includes a through-bore for a fastener to secure the anti-rotation element to the shaft.
