    摘要: A container is formed from at least one sheet-shaped segment made of paper and the like. The edges of the container which come into contact with the contents of the container are provided with a protective covering covering the surfaces bordering those edges of the segment as well as those of the wall of the container formed by the segment. The area of the segment to be covered by the protective covering is less thick, so that the thickness of the segment including the protective covering remains constant overall. The area with a reduced thickness is made by compressing the material of the segment. A segment provided with a protective covering and having a constant thickness can thereby be produced simply and cost-effectively.

    摘要: A paperboard tubular carton has circular end closures stapled within both ends of its tubular wall. The staples are engaged through outwardly bent tabs spaced about the periphery of the closures. Adequate security is provided by at least three spaced tabs on each closure. The ends of the tubular wall are reinforced by one or more folds, which may also provide a closure-supporting ledge. The lid has segments around two or more of the staples delineated for severance from the main portion of the lid, which is swung outwardly about the hinge provided by the remaining staple or staples to provide recloseable access to the contents of the carton. Carrying finger holes are provided in the lid within one of the severable segments.

    摘要: A biodegradable and compostable container for fluids achieves an environmentally friendly look and feel by minimizing the amount of bioplastic component parts that are visible and by maximizing the visibility of component parts made of water-permeable, biodegradable, and compostable material(s). The container includes one or more bioplastic junction pieces that are shaped and positioned to line and seal seams between container wall(s) and a base of the container, container wall(s) and a top of the container, or both. Thus, the one or more bioplastic junction pieces provide water-impermeable barriers at seams in the container where leakage is most likely to occur. The interior of the walls and the cover of the container are coated in one or more biodegradable, water-impermeable materials to ensure that fluid contained in the interior volume is not permitted to pass therethrough, while the resulting container as a whole remains compostable.
