摘要： An inflatable liferaft comprises an inflatable buoyancy tube side wall structure and a floor so secured at its periphery to the side wall structure that the inflated liferaft can be used when deployed on water either way up. An inflatable protective tube structure inflates with the side wall structure and takes up a protective location in which it extends round the outside of the side wall structure. The protective tube structure is, however, displaceable either way from its protective location to a canopy support location above the floor of the liferaft and a canopy assembly is so secured to the protective tube structure and to the side wall structure that when the protective tube structure moves to its canopy support location the canopy assembly deploys with the protective tube structure and is supported thereby.

摘要： Lifeboat in the general form of a hollow prolate spheroid having a hatchway opening in the upper portion and a weighted keel in the lower portion. The lifeboat comprises a main body having inner and outer skins spaced apart in a parallel relationship and a hollow ballast element extends entirely around the periphery of the inner chamber at the bottom and is divided by transverse walls into a plurality of fresh water compartments which also has a flat upper surface for use as a seat. The ballast element also includes a water compartment beneath the floor at the bottom portion of the inner chamber.

摘要： A stabilized life raft utilizing a fluid filled depending buoy chamber for overall stabilization and including as improved features thereon a peripheral skirt chamber which fills with the raft supporting fluid upon deployment of the raft and serves as a temporary stabilizer while the buoy chamber becomes filled. The buoy chamber includes baffles to impede the flow of the stabilizing fluid from one portion of the chamber to another in the event of a sudden weight shift within the raft. An improved valve permits a more rapid inward flow of fluid upon deployment of the raft and yet prevents outward flow in instances where the buoyant raft is suddenly thrust upwardly by elements such as waves. The raft, because of the particular placement of the various structural elements in conjunction with the placement of the survival gear and inflation system, is automatically self-righting.

摘要： An aquastabilized survival raft comprising a buoyant inflatable structure circumscribing a floor. A stabilizing chamber is attached to the underside of the buoyant structure. The chamber comprises at least one orifice in the lower portion thereof and a plurality of apertures in spaced locations around the upper periphery extending from the interior of the chamber to the atmosphere. When placed upon a body of water, water rapidly fills the stabilizing chamber by entering the orifice and expelling air through the apertures. The water-filled chamber stabilizes the survival raft so as to minimize pitching and rolling in rough water. An inflatable water-tight hemispherical shelter having suitable openings therein is attached to the top of the buoyant structure and when inflated protects survivors against the elements.

摘要： An aquatic rescue vehicle formed by adding directional and speed controls to a watercraft along with an autonomous control system to guide the vehicle to specified waypoints is disclosed. The rescue vehicle includes search devices such as a radio direction finder (RDF) and an infrared sensor (or camera) to be used to narrow the search for an isolated person (IP). The rescue vehicle may be discharged from a larger watercraft or an airplane and autonomously set out on its rescue mission. The vehicle may first navigate to a designated waypoint near an IP, and then use signals gathered from the RDF and infrared sensor to finally locate, assist, and retrieve the IP. The vehicle also includes a self-righting mechanism so that the vehicle can complete its mission even under the most adverse conditions.

The deck may further include a partition dividing the deck into two channels.

The water craft can sail across a body of water unmanned to a desired location for fishing. The water craft has control means which enables a fisherman on-shore to cause the water craft's sail to drop, thus minimizing further movement of the water craft. The water craft has self righting means 23 which causes it to revert back to a normal in-use orientation if it is overturned while on the body of water. More particularly, the self righting means incorporates a weight which is acted on by gravity to pull the water craft into the normal in use orientation.

The upper part of the device has a lifting frame and at least one manhole closed with a cover and the lower part has ballast, an anchor, and a windlass 5 for the anchor rope having automatic control of the tension in the anchor rope. The device is launched by a catapult on the offshore structure for horizontal movement in free fall to the water surface, where it submerges and is anchored until resurfacing, by release of the anchor, for rescue.
