    Abstract: [Problem] The present invention provides a vehicle brake system capable of shortening a delay time from time at which an execution request of a pre-crash brake executed by actuation of an electric booster is sent to time at which the pre-crash brake is actually actuated.
    [Means for Resolution] In a vehicle brake system (1) including: a hydraulic unit (20); a braking control section (90) for controlling the hydraulic unit (20); a master cylinder (14); an electric booster (10); a booster control section (100) for controlling the electric booster (10); and a pre-crash brake execution determination section (110), the pre-crash brake execution determination section (110) sends information on a specified target value (P_tgt) for decelerating a vehicle to the booster control section (100) and the braking control section (90). When a change amount (ΔP) of the target value (P_tgt) received from the pre-crash brake execution determination section (110) exceeds a specified threshold value (ΔP_thr), the booster control section (100) drives the electric booster (10) prior to a command from the braking control section (90) and executes preceding brake control for generating a specified brake hydraulic pressure to a wheel cylinder.

    Abstract: Disclosed herein are a brake system and a controlling method thereof. The brake system in accordance with the present embodiment includes a wheel speed sensor configured to output a signal responding to a speed of a vehicle, a pressure detection sensor configured to output a signal responding to a braking pressure of the vehicle, and a controller configured to detect whether the vehicle has an accident, based on a signal received from a shock detection senor configured to output a signal responding to a shock applied to the vehicle, and detect whether the wheel speed sensor has an abnormality based on the signal received from the wheel speed sensor, and the controller performs deceleration control of the vehicle based on the signal received from the wheel speed sensor when detecting that the wheel speed sensor has no abnormality and performs the deceleration control of the vehicle based on the signal received from the pressure detection sensor when detecting that the wheel speed sensor has the abnormality.

    Abstract: A system for controlling a vehicle using driving behavior involving automatic emergency braking (AEB) events. The system includes a plurality of sensors and an electronic processor. The system receives event data of an attribute of a driving behavior of a user related to handling an AEB event of a vehicle from the plurality of sensors. The system assigns a weighted value to the attribute based on a set of conditions for the attribute and the event data. The system determines an event score of the driving behavior related to the AEB event based on the weighted value of the attribute. The system determines a user driving behavior score based on the event score associated with one or more AEB events handled by the user. The system activates a vehicle countermeasure related to attributes responsive to determining the driving behavior score of the user is greater than a driving behavior threshold.

    Abstract: A method for determining potential collision includes capturing image data of an exterior environment ahead of a subject vehicle via a camera disposed at the subject vehicle. The presence of a leading vehicle ahead of the equipped vehicle is determined via image processing of captured image data. A time to collision to the leading vehicle is determined via image processing of captured image data. A determination, via image processing of captured image data, is made if a brake light of the leading vehicle is illuminated. Based at least in part on the determined time to collision and determination that the brake light of the leading vehicle is illuminated, at least one of (i) a degree of warning to a driver of the subject vehicle is determined and (ii) a braking level of the subject vehicle to mitigate collision with the leading vehicle is determined.

    Abstract: A vehicle brake system includes a collision determination unit that determines whether collision of the vehicle occurs or not; and a second braking control unit that, when the collision of the vehicle is determined as occurring, causes at least either of an ESB system and a VSA system to perform emergency braking control of the vehicle, and causes the VSA system to perform ABS braking control based on an ABS brake demand depending on a slip state of each wheel, irrespective of whether a brake pedal is pressed down or not. In a case where the vehicle collides, where the brake operation is performed, and where the ABS braking control is performed, the second braking control unit causes the emergency braking control based on an emergency brake demand to be continued instead of the braking control based on the press-down operation of the brake pedal by a driver.

    Abstract: In an alert control apparatus mounted in a vehicle, when collision avoidance control is being performed to automatically activate brakes of the vehicle to avoid collision with a forward object, an alert determiner determines whether or not a predefined alert condition for determining that the collision with the forward object cannot be avoided is met, based on a distance to the forward object and a stopping distance. The stopping distance is a distance the vehicle travels until the vehicle stops moving and is calculated based on the traveling speed of the vehicle and a collision avoidance deceleration at which the traveling speed is decreased under the collision avoidance control. An alert controller, if the alert condition is met, activates at least one alerting device to alert surroundings of the vehicle, and if the alert condition is not met, inhibits operation of the at least one alerting device.
