    摘要: A steering wheel horn assembly operates the horn of a vehicle through driver initiated application of pressure on a steering wheel body. The assembly permits a driver to activate a vehicle horn without the driver having to remove one or more hands from the steering wheel. A circular steering wheel body is bifurcated into first and second steering wheel body sections having cooperating first and second electrical contact members. The steering wheel body sections are pressed together through application of pressure from the driver's hands to an active position. In the active position, the electrical contact members engage to complete a circuit; thereby actuating an audible sound from the horn. Springs bias the steering wheel body sections apart to disengage the electrical contact members to an inactive position. Applying pressure to create the active position also actuates illumination from vehicle lights, simultaneously with the audible sound from the horn.

    摘要: A method and apparatus of sounding a horn of a vehicle is provided where the user operator need not release his or her hand from steering wheel handle to actuate a horn. In one example, a steering wheel with force-sensing device is provided for a driver of a car for quick access to sound the horn by simply squeezing or pressing the steer wheel in a particular way without releasing his or her hand from the steering wheel. The vehicle can have a control algorithm to monitor external force applied to the steering wheel through a sensor array which activates the horn when the pressure level reaches a threshold value. Drivers can optionally use a user interface to selectively set one or more threshold values so they can activate the horn or activate different volume or tones of horn by setting and achieving various threshold conditions. The horn may be activated by a squeezing/pressing/twisting action, by squeezing/pressing/twisting the handle with one hand, by squeezing/pressing/twisting the handle with two hands simultaneously, by squeezing/pressing/twisting the handle in a particular way, by squeezing/pressing/twisting the handle at a particular location(s) of the steering wheel handle, etc.

    摘要: The present invention provides a horn circuit (15) for activating a horn of a vehicle which is adapted to be integrated in an airbag module (3) of a vehicle or in ah attachment member (5) for connecting the airbag module (3) to the steering wheel, comprising at least two contact elements (17, 19), wherein a horn signal is produced when the at least two contact elements (17, 19) electrically contact with each other. The horn circuit (15) according to the present invention is characterised in that the at least two contact elements (17, 19) are adapted to electrically connect with each other by means of at least one conductive spring element (9) for fixing an airbag module (3) to a steering wheel.

Among respective hooks of a module, the hooks being adapted to engage with wires which are disposed in respective opening portions of a steering wheel main body, an adjustment rib which is provided so as to be protrusive to an outer circumferential face of one side hook comes into contact with an inside face of one side opening portion, and restrains a position of such one side hook in such one side opening portion. An adjustment pin which is protrusively provided at a position different from that of the adjustment rib on the outer circumferential face of such one side hook elastically comes into contact with the inside face of such one side opening portion by the adjustment rib coming into contact with the inside face of such one side opening portion.
