Abstract: A system for tracking whether a child has been left in a child's car seat includes a child seat sensing device with s proximity sensor that can sense a child's presence in the car seat. The seat sensing device can communicate with a GPS tracker in the vehicle, which can communicate with a camera onboard the vehicle. The seat sensing device is configured so that if the proximity sensor senses a child's presence in the car seat when the vehicle ignition is off, the seat sensing device will send an alert signal to the GPS tracker. In response to the alert signal, the GPS tracker is configured to cause the camera to send an alert to a user, capture an image of the car seat in the vehicle, and send the image to the user.

Abstract: A manufacturing method for a car safety seat includes the following steps: providing a mold and disposing a main body of the car safety seat into the mold, and injecting a foam material into a cavity of the mold and foaming the foam material so as to form a flexible layer integrated with the main body. A pressure in the cavity is between 1.5 bar and 5.0 bar. The manufacturing method disposes the main body into the mold and directly forms a flexible layer on the main body, so that the flexible layer ensures safety and comfort of the car safety seat while saves the necessity to dispose a seat pad or a cushion and fixing structures on the main body, and thereby reduces the cost and the work-hour of assembly, and the overall weight of the car safety seat can be reduced by omitting the fixing structures.

Abstract: A car seat occupancy alert system includes an occupancy sensor imbedded in or positioned atop the seat portion of an infant car seat in a vehicle. The alert system includes an engine sensor configured to detect when a vehicle engine has been turned off. The occupancy sensor may be electrically connected to a controller (e.g. a control circuit or process). When the engine is deactivated, the controller determines if the car seat is still occupied after a predetermined time and, at first, energizes a dash light as a gentle reminder for the driver to retrieve the child and, later, actuates more aggressive audio and visual alarms to alert the driver and public to a child left in the vehicle. The alert system also provides an interrupt so that a user can add additional time before an alarm is actuated.

Abstract: A child safety seat and temperature warning system includes a child restraint including a seat and a backrest that is attached to and extends upwardly from the seat. A processor is mounted in the child restraint. A weight sensor is mounted within the seat and detects when a weight is positioned on the seat. A heat sensor is mounted in the child restraint and detects an ambient temperature adjacent to the child restraint. The weight sensor and the heat sensor are electrically coupled to the processor. A vehicle includes an alarm system that is in communication with the processor. The vehicle alarm system is turned on when the vehicle alarm system receives a warning signal. The warning signal is sent by the heat sensor to the processor when the weight sensor detects a weight and the heat sensor detects an unsuitable temperature which is greater than an upper threshold temperature.
