    Abstract: A layered glass assembly for optical light beam projection with three-dimensional depth perception for a vehicle includes: a display surface glass having a first refractive index and being configured to refract a first section of a light beam at a first interface; a first transition structure configured to refract a second section of the light beam at a second interface; a filler structure having a second refractive index and being configured to refract a third section of the light beam at a third interface; a second transition structure configured to refract a fourth section of the light beam at a fourth interface; and a front glass having a third refractive index and being configured to project the refracted light beam so as to generate the three-dimensional depth perception.

    Abstract: A display device for a vehicle includes a decorative member; a light source that emits light to the decorative member; and a virtual image generation unit that displays a virtual image between a driver of the vehicle and the decorative member. The light source is disposed closer to the driver than the decorative member, and is alternately switchable between a light-on state and a light-off state when the virtual image generation unit displays a virtual image.

    Abstract: A display device generates a combined display that is viewable by the driver of a vehicle. The combined display may be composed of a plurality of displays, wherein one or more overlaying displays appear partially or completely in front of a first display, each overlaying display having an opaque portion that conveys information and a substantially transparent portion through which the first display is viewable. One or more monitors may generate the first display and overlaying displays. A monitor may be divided into multiple screens to generate a plurality of the displays. A screen that generates the first display may be directly viewable by the driver, while the screens the generate the overlaying displays may be outside the driver's line of sight. The display device may include one or more reflecting surfaces and one or more refracting surfaces for directing the overlaying displays into the driver's line of sight.
