    Abstract: The present specification describes a telescopic thermometer that allows a user to measure surface or air temperature in hardly accessible places. The telescopic thermometer includes a telescopic body with a temperature sensor attached at remote end of the telescopic body and a magnet used to temporarily attach the thermometer to a place near the place of measurement for hands free operation. A display unit at user end displays the temperature readings received from the sensor. The temperature readings are transmitted to a networked device for storing and processing.

    Abstract: An instrument includes a transparent dial and a light source. The transparent dial includes an indicia, a graduation, and first and second surfaces, wherein the first and second surfaces are parallel to each other, and wherein the second surface is closer than the first surface to a viewer of the instrument. The light source provides light through the transparent dial to project the indicia and the graduation to a location that is closer than the second surface to the viewer of the instrument.

    Abstract: An apparatus and method for measuring the physical quantities of a data center during operation and method for servicing large-scale computing systems is disclosed. The apparatus includes a cart that supports a plurality of sensors. The cart is moveable within the data center. The sensors capture temperature or other physical parameters within the room. The sensor readings, along with position and orientation information pertaining to the cart are transmitted to a computer system where the data is analyzed to select the optimum temperature or other system environmental parameters for the data center.

    Abstract: An indoor/outdoor thermometer comprised of separate indoor and outdoor temperature indicating units is disclosed for simultaneously providing a relative temperature indication on two sides of a sheet of transparent material in conjunction with a single graduated scale disposed on one of the units. Alignment surfaces are provided to align the indoor unit with respect to the outdoor unit and with respect to the graduated scale, and means are provided to attach the indoor temperature indicating unit relatively independently of the outdoor temperature indicating unit. In addition, moisture control means may be provided.
