    摘要： A switch system for clearing spoiled items from an overlapped stream of paper products such as signatures has a three-flight conveyor belt transporting system whose middle flight may be rocked bodily so that its downstream belt support roll, functioning as a switch roll, is moved between an upper position in which it is leveled up with the next flight, and a lowered position for sending the stream, when made up of spoiled items, downwards under the next flight to a separate delivery. The side face of the upstream belt roll of this same next flight is covered by a cover for neatly separating the stream and switching it over into the downward parts under this next flight. Over the switch a backer roll is placed so as to have its weight supported on the stream of products (in turn supported by the switch roll). In this way the products are well gripped and controlled.

    摘要： A collating device having an array of shelves for receiving sheets to be collated, a belt for conveying the sheets along a path traversing the array of shelves, and a set of feed rollers associated with each shelf. All the sets of rollers are arranged to rotate normally in one direction and disposed to cooperate with the belt, when rotating in that direction, to feed successive sheets past the shelves. Means are provided for selectively rotating a particular set of feed rollers in reverse direction for feeding a sheet to a particular selected shelf. The sets of rollers respectively associated with successive shelves may be subjected in succession to the reverse rotation so that successive sheets are respectively delivered to the successive shelves.

    摘要： A printing press including a frame and a central impression drum rotatably supported on the frame. A plurality of first side printing stations is circumferentially spaced about the central impression drum and in communication therewith. Each of the plurality of printing first side printing stations is adapted to print an image on a first side of a substrate. A perfecting printing station is disposed at a position about the central impression drum. The perfecting printing station includes a multi-purpose drum having a substrate retainer for securing the substrate thereto. The multi-purpose drum forms an impression cylinder and is in communication with an image transfer cylinder for imparting an image on a second side of the substrate. An ink fixing unit is disposed between the first side printing stations and the perfecting station. The ink fixing unit fixes the image on the first side of the substrate prior to the image being imparted on the second side of the substrate by the perfecting station.

    摘要： To transport, store, process and handle and distribute a plurality of printed products, retained in cassettes on a minimum of space, the cassettes are vertically stored, preferably in pairs. Transport can occur in a predetermined plane, of full and empty cassettes, respectively, the cassettes being moved within the storage elements by horizontal and vertical or lift transport elements, so that the cassettes can be moved in all directions of the three-dimensional storage structures and removed from any one position. The cassettes can be loaded on carts or carriages and coupled together to be moved in form of trains by a drive head (28) past product delivery stations, such as folding apparatus (9, 13) coupled to printing machine units (1-8), for placement in the storage racks; and removed from the cassettes, collected in groups in pivotable holders (116-119), with two, each, holders facing each other and pivoting towards each other so that the groups of products in the holders will be cross-positioned on the delivery or removal apparatus, for example a transport belt (124).
