    摘要: A sheet supply system, for use in supplying overlapped sheets to an interfolder, includes a bed roll on which a web is cut into successive sheets. The sheets are supplied to a sheet supply passage leading to retard rolls, which overlap the sheets within the supply passage. The trailing portion of each downstream sheet bulges outwardly as the sheet is supplied to the supply passage. An air tube directs pressurized air into a volume within which the bulge in the downstream sheet is formed. The pressurized air prevents the leading portion of the upstream sheet from being drawn outwardly along with the trailing area of the downstream sheet, by counteracting a vacuum that results from outward movement of the trailing portion of the downstream sheet after it is released from the bed roll. The pressurized air also maintains the upstream sheet in engagement with stripper fingers that guide the sheets through the sheet supply passage, and ensures separation between the trailing end of the downstream sheet and the leading end of the upstream sheet.

    摘要: A transported-object stacking apparatus includes first fluid discharge unit and second fluid discharge unit. The first fluid discharge unit is disposed on one side of a transported object and is adapted to discharge working fluid in order to press the transported object against transporting unit. The second fluid discharge unit is disposed downstream from the first fluid discharge unit with respect to the direction of transport of the transported object and on the other side of the transported object, and is adapted to discharge working fluid toward a rear half portion of the transported object in order to separate the transported object from the transporting unit. When working fluid is discharged from the first fluid discharge unit, an object transported by the transporting unit is pressed against the transporting unit. Subsequently, when working fluid is discharged from the second fluid discharge unit toward a rear half portion of the transported object, the transported object is separated from the transporting unit.

    摘要: In the case of an apparatus for forming a stack of sheets comprising a brake means placed at (in terms of sheet motion) the leading edge of the stack and downstream from a sheet transport means, the brake means having at least one brake roller driven at a lower peripheral speed than the speed of transport of the sheets and a timed sheet nip member adapted to engage a sheet and move it towards the brake roller, one aim of the invention is to ensure reliable retardation and straightening of the sheets without damage to them. In order to attain this objective the brake means, whose sheet nip member or members is in the form of at least one segment able to be driven at a speed equal to the speed of the braking roller cooperating therewith when tripped by the sheet, is placed at the downstream end of at least one suction belt designed to receive the respective sheets from a sheet processing machine, and at least one blow tube is placed over the stack and downstream from the said brake roller, such blow tube, that is supplied with air under pressure, having at least one nozzle generally directed in the direction of sheet transport.
