摘要： In some examples, a security element includes a substrate that, on one of its sides, includes at least one security feature extending over a first area, the security feature being configured in the form of a three-dimensional intaglio structure. A first ink group in the security feature includes a plurality of first raised image elements containing intaglio printing ink of the first color, and at least one second ink group in the security feature includes a plurality of raised image elements containing intaglio printing ink of a second color that differs from the first color, and these are provided and arranged offset and spaced apart from one another such that they form an optically variable structure and/or at least some of the mutually adjacent image elements, which differ from one another in the color, occlude and/or expose one another to varying degrees from a varying viewing angles.

摘要： There is described a printing press adapted to carry out printing on a sheet-like or web-like substrate, in particular for the production of security documents such as banknotes, comprising a substrate feeding device for feeding the substrate to be treated, at least a printing unit designed to print a first side and/or a second side of the substrate and a delivery unit for receiving the treated substrate. The printing press in the conveying path for the substrate between the feeding device and the delivery unit further comprises an in-line casting device adapted to apply a layer of material acting as an optical medium on a portion of the second side of the substrate and to replicate and form a micro-optical structure in the layer of material acting as optical medium, wherein the printing unit comprises a first printing group comprising a printing cylinder and being adapted to print at least one printed pattern on the first or second side of the substrate in register with the micro-optical structure.

摘要： There is described a multicolor letterpress printing press, in particular a numbering press, comprising a printing group (50) with at least a first letterpress (e.g. numbering) cylinder (51) and a second letterpress cylinder (52) which are inked by an associated inking system (60, 71, 72, 81, 81 a, 81 b, 82, 82a, 82b). The inking system (60, 71, 72, 81, 81 a, 81 b, 82, 82a, 82b) comprises (i) a first inking device (81) supplying ink to a first chablon cylinder (71), (ii) at least a second inking device (82) supplying ink to a second chablon cylinder (72), and (iii) an ink-collecting cylinder (60) contacting the first and second chablon cylinders (71, 72) and the first and second letterpress cylinders (51, 52). The ink-collecting cylinder (60) collects a first ink pattern (A, D) from the first chablon cylinder (71) and a second ink pattern (B, C) from the second chablon cylinder (72). As a result, a first multicolor pattern of inks (A-D) is formed on the ink-collecting cylinder (60), which first multicolor pattern of inks (A-D) is transferred onto the first letterpress cylinder (51). The ink-collecting cylinder (60) further collects a third ink pattern (A, D) from the first chablon cylinder (71) and a fourth ink pattern (B, C) from the second chablon cylinder (72), thereby forming a second multicolor pattern of inks (A ″D) on the ink-collecting cylinder (60), which second multicolor pattern of inks (A ″D) is transferred onto the second letterpress cylinder (52).

A control unit is provided for controlling the drying unit of the dryer with respect to activating and deactivating the same, which control unit is in signal connection with a transmitter providing signals representing one of the machine phase and the progress of the printing material, and which, per cycle, effectuates a switching on and off of or, at least part of, the drying unit after a sequence comprising at least one active and at least one inactive phase, in correlation with the position of one of the machine and the printing material phase.

摘要： A method is provided for manufacturing an image on a substrate, wherein the image includes an indicia and a frame. The method includes covering at least a portion the substrate with a carrier comprising magnetically alignable flakes, aligning the magnetically alignable flakes with a magnetic field of a magnetic assembly comprising a metal plate with an opening, and solidifying the carrier. The frame is formed at an edge of the opening and the indicia is visible within the frame. The magnetic assembly includes two magnets disposed so that the North pole of one magnet and the South pole of another magnet are proximate to the metal plate at opposite sides of the opening.

The image-forming apparatus controls a paper feed unit so as to feed a single sheet of paper from a paper stack unit when a command for forming an image on RF tag paper is input, controls a paper transfer unit so as to provide the paper fed from a security paper cassette unit to an image-forming unit along a transfer path, and controls the image-forming unit so as to normally form a desired image on the moving RF tag paper when an RF tag detection signal is input from an RF tag, paper detection unit, whereby the image is formed only on the security paper in which an RF tag is inserted and thus illegal leakage of documents may be prevented.

摘要： A method of manufacturing a pattern on a substrate web includes providing a production tool having a surface relief structure of elevations and depressions. The elevations correspond to a desired pattern. A curable material is applied to the elevations. The material is brought into contact with a substrate web at a first location. The substrate web and surface relief structure are transported together in contact from the first location to a second location spaced from one another along the transport direction of the substrate web. The substrate web is separated from the surface relief structure at the second location whereupon the material forming the pattern is affixed to and carried by the substrate web. The material is cured by exposure to a curing energy source, either between the first and second locations and/or after the substrate web has been separated from the surface relief structure at the second location.
