Abstract:
A processor causes, when the number of initial insertion sheets is one or more, an insertion conveying portion and a takeover conveying portion to operate at either one of a conveying speed that is the same as a print conveying speed corresponding to a first recording sheet and a reference conveying speed according to a magnitude relationship between the number of initial insertion sheets and an initial sheet count in conveyance of the initial insertion sheets. In addition, the processor causes a body conveying portion and the takeover conveying portion to operate at the corresponding print conveying speed in conveyance of the recording sheet irrespective of the number of initial insertion sheets.
Abstract:
An image forming apparatus includes: an image former, a paper feed tray that feeds a sheet to the image former, a display that displays a list of tray information on the paper feed tray, based on a mounting order with respect to an apparatus; and a controller that controls display of the display. The controller changes a display order of a list of the tray information according to a display priority based on an image forming operation.
Abstract:
A printing apparatus capable of producing a product having the optimum image layout dependent on a discharge destination even when saddle-stitching is canceled due to input of image data for sheets in excess of a limit of a saddle-stitchable number of sheets. The number of output sheets per one copy is calculated based on image data. When the number of output sheets per one copy exceeds a saddle-stitchable number of sheets, it is selected whether to perform the center folding processing on the sheets on which images are printed without performing the saddle stitching processing thereon or to perform neither the saddle stitching processing nor the center folding processing on the sheets on which images are printed.
Abstract:
Provided is an image forming apparatus preventing lowering of continuous printing performance; including plural paper feeding stages in main body; a residual paper quantity detection sensor; a printer part printing on paper; a paper feeding stage searching part functioning every time paper feeding is made; a paper feeding stage selection part determining existence of paper feeding capable stage, on result by paper feeding stage searching part, and selecting a paper feeding stage; a system control part performing stage changeover according to selection result by paper feeding stage selection part; when there exists no paper feeding capable stage, paper feeding stage selection part notifying system control part of it, and when there exists paper feeding capable stage, paper feeding stage selection part altering priority levels in stage searching on detection result by residual paper quantity detection sensor, and number of sheets required for printing, selecting paper feeding stage.
Abstract:
Imaging apparatus and methods for bindery systems are disclosed. An example method includes engaging a signature assembly with an end of a separator to cause 1) a first page of the signature assembly to be disposed on a platform and 2) a second page of the signature assembly to be disposed on the side of the platform; drawing the first page toward the platform; and imaging the first page when the first page is on the platform.
Abstract:
An apparatus includes a transport path for transporting a sheet, a branch path branched off from the transport path to transport a sheet to a stacker, transport rollers on the transport path, branch rollers on the branch path, and a sheet processing control section controlling the rollers. The control section performs wait transport for switchback-transporting a sheet to cause the sheet to once wait in the branch path after the sheet transported in the transport path passes through a branch position, and transporting the sheet to a first processing tray together with a subsequent sheet, and second tray transport for switchback-transporting a sheet to transport to the stacker via the branch path after the sheet passes through the branch position, makes a switchback transport velocity in the second tray transport lower than that in switchback transport in the wait transport, and suppresses fluttering and bending of the sheet.
Abstract:
By adding a distinction for every sheet bundle of a same delivery destination and ejecting the sheet bundle, a sorting burden on the user is reduced. According to a control method of a printing apparatus, a job including predetermined information is received, an image is printed to a sheet by executing the received job, and on the basis of the predetermined information included in the received job, the sheet which is printed by executing the job is ejected to a position different from that of a sheet ejected before the sheet.
Abstract:
An image production device includes a processor, media feed trays having media size sensors, and a marking device. A scanner connected to the processor, scans images on a two-dimensional document and determines one dimension of the document. The processor automatically determines dimensions of media in the media feed trays and compares the dimensions of media in each of the media feed trays to the one dimension of the document. Responsive to the one dimension of the document matching one of the dimensions of the media in one of the media feed trays, the processor identifies a matching feed tray based only on one dimension of the document in the scanner. Media is automatically selected from the matching feed tray and fed to the marking device. The marking device renders images on the media selected from the matching feed tray. The processor outputs the media containing the images.

Abstract:
In accordance with one embodiment, an image forming apparatus is equipped with a conveyance device configured to include a rotatable first pulley and a rotatable second pulley arranged side by side, a belt hung on a first pulley and a second pulley and a conveyance roller connected with the belt on the outer periphery of the first pulley and rotating together with the belt, and sandwich and convey a recording medium at a nip part between the conveyance roller and the belt. The axis of the second pulley of the conveyance device is rotated by the rotating mechanism by taking the axis of the first pulley as a fulcrum.
