摘要: There is provided a corrugated sheet processing apparatus (120) comprising: sheet processing equipment comprising at least feed and guide rollers for selecting, moving and supporting sheets or webs to a corrugator (136) for forming a corrugated sheet from which corrugated products (146) can be cut, at least one layer of the corrugated sheet, and thus products, being formed from a printed sheet or web; and a control system for controlling the sheet processing equipment (136) or a cutter (148); the sheet processing apparatus (136) further comprising a visual inspection unit (162) arranged for reading printed information markers provided on at least one printed sheet or web as the printed sheet or web, and thus the printed information markers to be read, pass through the corrugated sheet processing apparatus (136), or corrugator, past the visual inspection unit (162); and wherein the control system further has a data look-up table comprising either a) for the products, at least information associated with the form or type of at least one of the sheets or webs to be used in the corrugated sheet for those products (146), and associated with that information specific identifier information readable from the printed information markers by the visual inspection unit (162), whereby the apparatus (120) can identify what products will be produced downstream of the visual inspection unit, and the required settings for the sheet processing equipment or corrugator for those products, from a read printed information marker so that the sheet processing equipment or corrugator can be appropriately controlled by the control system in response to the read printed information marker, or b) at least information associated with the products (146) to be cut from the corrugated sheet, including cutter settings for the at least one cutting apparatus for those products, and associated with those settings specific identifier information readable from the printed information markers by the visual inspection unit, whereby the apparatus (120) can identify required cutter settings for the cutting apparatus (148) for the read printed information markers so that the cutting apparatus can be appropriately controlled by the control system in response to a read printed information marker to provide a change in the cutter requirements.

摘要: A process and an apparatus for producing faced or laminated sheets, wherein a carrier web is provided and covering sheets are adhesively attached to the carrier web and the carrier web is then divided into individual faced sections. The carrier web is provided with spaced apart, transversely extending lines of perforations. The carrier web is an endless sheet of corrugated paper and adhesive is applied to the crested side of the corrugated paper. The covering sheets are mounted on the carrier web such that when the carrier web is torn along a line of perforations, at least one of the leading and trailing edges of the respective covering sheet for the torn off section of the carrier web projects beyond the adjacent line of perforations at the end of the torn off section of the carrier web. The covering sheets are either individual sheets or a continuous web which itself is provided with lines of perforations extending transversely across the covering sheet web. Devices feed the carrier web and the covering sheets or covering sheet webs and the devices are so synchronized that the above described projection of the leading or trailing edge of a covering sheet results when a section of faced sheet is torn off. A perforating device may be provided for perforating the carrier web prior to the application of adhesive thereto. An adhesive applying roller applies adhesive to the carrier web immediately before it is faced and after it is perforated. A separating device pulls the sections of faced sheet away from the facing device and this tears each section of faced sheet away from the remainder of the web of faced sheets.

摘要: Accurate and consistent application of a label or the like to a sheet of cardboard or the like in fixed relation to a reference point on the cardboard is effected by an apparatus comprising a sheet material feeding means, a label feeding means, a label transport means synchronized with each of said sheet and label feeding means, a referencing means on said transport means in fixed relation to said label being carried thereby to cut and index said sheet material and thereby provide a uniform reference for application of said label and for further processing of said labeled sheet material. The label may be glued and as the glued label is brought into contact with the cardboard the cutting tool is operated to simultaneously notch the cardboard and/or the paper in the vicinity of the cardboard edge so that the composite cardboard-labeled sheet will be in exact relation to the print regardless of any irregularities which the edge of the cardboard might possess.
