摘要： A heat seal die assembly for heat sealing plastic sheets, both solid wall and mesh, which comprises the following: first and second heat seal bars forming heat seal lines in said plastic sheets, with the bars being spaced from each other. Each heat seal bar faces a separate backing plate, against which the plastic sheet heat sealing is effected by the heat seal bars. The separate backing plates are respectively carried by a single support plate. The backing plates are connected to the support plate by threaded members which permit adjustable spacing of each backing plate from the support plate, to correspondingly adjust the spacing of each backing plate and heat seal bar during heat sealing operations. Also, optionally, a third, separate backing plate faces a heated cutter, with the third backing plate being adjustably carried in similar manner on the support plate to provide adjustable spacing, and corresponding adjustment of cutting conditions.

摘要： A flat electrical cable and a modular rotary anvil for assembling a flat electrical cable is provided wherein the flat cable includes an upper layer having ribs protruding along its length and substantially parallel to one another, continuous substantially parallel and adjacent seams formed between and upper an lower insulator layer conductors between the upper and lower layer adjacent the seams and a pattern formed in the surface of the lower insulator layer. The present invention may have upper and lower polyester layers having copper conductors therebetween and the seams ultrasonically welded in order to provide flat electrical cable for various applications such as incorporation in an automobile clockspring. The modular rotary anvil includes multiple removable and interchangeable segments or inserts which provide the ability to impart a smooth or knurled textured surface pattern to the work-piece. Other inserts include cutting inserts which provide for a seam on the work-piece while at the same time cuts the work-piece along a seam.

The welding tips of the assembly may be conical with the cone height A and base width B having a ratio of A/B=1.2 or frusto-conical with a ratio of 0.76 in preferred embodiments. The welding tips are supported on anvils. In the welding process, the tips are only partially inserted into the material being welded so that the anvils remain spaced from the material. This space provides a reservoir into which molten material may flow away from the regions of the welding tips.

A layer of synthetic plastic foam material havin an exposed surface of predetermined appearance is placed onto a support. A layer of sheet material portions of which may be light-transmissive, is superimposed upon the exposed surface of the foam material. At least one of the materials is latently adhesive. At least the layers are severed inwardly of the edges along the contour line of the desired applique. Simultaneously the layer of sheet material is pressed against the support at least along a narrow zone inwardly of the contour line and the latently adhesive material is activated to thereby adhere the sheet material in the narrow zone to the support across the layer of foam material.

摘要： A floral sleeve is made from two layers of non-woven thermoplastic fabric such as polypropylene. The layers are joined at the side seams of the sleeve by first pre-sealing the edges and thereafter trimming them. Pre-sealing compresses the fabric to make it denser along a band and applying heat causes the band to retain the compressed and at least partially fused set. Trimming may be done using a hot knife that completes the fusing process of the layers to each other. Alternately, the pre-sealing step may form a satisfactory fusion between the layers and the trimming step need not effect further fusion.

摘要： An apparatus for ultrasonic processing of workpieces is described. The apparatus comprises a converter plate, at least one feed unit mounted on said converter plate, at least one vibratory structure being coupled to said feed unit and having a converter, a sonotrode and a longitudinal axis, and adjusting means for adjusting the vibratory structure in at least two directions transversely to its longitudinal axis. The adjusting means include a plurality of fixing means arranged in the manner of a raster on said converter plate in such a manner that the feed unit can be fixed on the adapter plate with the aid of at least one fixing means selected from the plurality of fixing means.
