    Abstract: The safety device for injection molds comprises: a plate (1) attachable to a fixed part of a mold; a base (4) attachable to a movable part of a mold; wherein the base (4) comprises a safety shaft (10) movable between an unmounted position, wherein said safety shaft (10) is housed in a bore (13) of the plate (1), preventing displacement between the plate (1) and the base (4), and an assembled position, in which said safety shaft (10) is located outside the hole (13) of the plate (1), the displacement of the safety shaft (10) being driven by an actuator (7), allowing displacement between the plate (1) and the base (4). It ensures the connection of the two parts of the mold when the mold is not mounted on the injection molding machine.

Before the injection molding machine is brought into operation, the control unit operates the collaborative robot at least in a space inside the injection molding machine where molds are installed, and transmits an operation disable signal to the injection molding machine when contact between an object and the collaborative robot or a hand attached to an end of the collaborative robot is detected.

    Abstract: An apparatus and method for actuating a valve stem between an open position and a closed position and for taking one or more valve gated nozzle out of service is disclosed. The hot runner includes a valve gated nozzle having a valve stem, the valve stem coupled to a piston that is held against an actuation plate via pressurized air. When a valve stem becomes stuck in a gate of the hot runner, the actuation plate can continue to move while the piston remains stationary. The valve stem may also be protected from an over force situation such as if the valve stem encounters an obstruction as the actuation plate is moving toward the closed position.
