摘要: A steel wire for a spring is formed of a steel containing from 0.5% by mass to 0.8% by mass of carbon, from 1.0% by mass to 2.5% by mass of silicon, from 0.2% by mass to 1.0% by mass of manganese, and from 0.5% by mass to 2.5% by mass of chromium, the balance being iron and incidental impurities. The steel has a tempered martensite structure. The hardness of a surface region that is a region within 10 μm from an outer surface is from more than 0 HV to 50 HV higher than the hardness of a region other than the surface region.

摘要: Disclosed are a control method and a device for a cutter shaped by a helical spring, which comprises two cutter position controlling devices (20) connected to two spring outer diameter cutters (10) respectively and comprises a cutter lifting device (30). The two cutter position controlling devices (20) are arranged in the same mounting plane (40). The cutter position-controlling device (20) controls an amount of displacement of the stretching and retracting of the two spring outer diameter cutters (10). The amount of displacement of the spring outer diameter cutters (10) and the amount of up and down movement of the mounting plane (40) are controlled simultaneously by a motor (50). By applying the concept of relative coordinates, the requirements of control can be simplified from two two-dimensional control movements to three single-axis linear movements by using the centre (P3) of a spring coil as the origin of the coordinates for the movement of the spring outer diameter cutter. In the case that the distances of linear movement on the three axes are identical or at a fixed ratio, the advantage of reducing the number of motors is achieved.

The wire production apparatus is designed such that the spring wire can be guided past the checking unit and past the laser marking unit.

摘要: A wire supply station comprises a container 34 in which the wire is retained in a multitude of loops (not shown) of substantially the same diameter around a cylindrical inside surface of the drum. The wire 16 emerges from the drum 34 under no tension and substantially straight. It is then fed between guide or feed rollers 20 into the coiling head 12. The wire 16 is formed into a continuous coil, from which lengths are cut by a cutter (not shown) to form individual coil springs 24. The individual coil springs 24 are then carried by the spring transfer station 26 to the fabric pocket welding station 28 where they become encased in individual pockets when the welding heads 30 weld the material.Pre-straightening the wire before storing it in loops inside the cylindrical drum 34 allows for a more consistent pocket spring, and ultimately a flatter spring unit/mattress as any pre-stressing of the wire, caused by the drawing process used to manufacture it, is neutralised leaving the wire largely stress-free. This means that there is no need to compensate for, or break, the forces inherent in the wire before feeding it to the coiler. Accordingly the accumulator is not necessary and the wire supply can be positioned together with the coiling device, preferably above or below the coiling device, to take up less footprint in the factory.

摘要: In an end sealing step, an end is sealed by which the core material of the end of a spring member is gathered by machining. For example, a squeezing roller is moved in an axial direction as necessary, while the end of the spring member is pressed to the inside in a radial direction by the squeezing roller. As a result, the end of the spring member is sealed and therefore, it is not necessary to use another member such as a lid member. For example, the end sealing step can be immediately carried out after an inner surface processing step. In a coil forming step after the end sealing step, formation of clearance can be prevented at the end even if the end of the spring member is gripped and the spring member is wound around the rod.

摘要: A method of manufacturing a coil spring using a helicoid reduction mill includes supplying a coil spring material linearly unrolled by a prestraightener to a surface treatment machine and then short-blasting or scarfing its outer surface to surface-treat the coil spring material; primarily heating the surface-treated coil spring material to a predetermined temperature using a first heater; sequentially supplying and pressurizing the primarily-heated coil spring material in a stepwise fashion such that the coil spring material has the same diameter as that of a coil spring to be manufactured; measuring the diameter and the length of the coil spring material and then cutting the coil spring material to a desired size; secondarily heating the cut coil spring material to a predetermined temperature using a second heater; forming the secondarily heated coil spring material into a coil spring using a coiling machine; and oil-quenching and then tempering the formed coil spring.
