Abstract:
The backpack paint sprayer comprises a backpack, a spray gun, and a hose assembly. The backpack paint sprayer may be a portable spray-painting system. The backpack may carry a supply of paint which may be pumped from the backpack to the spray gun via the hose assembly. A turbine located within the spray gun may create an air stream that may atomize the paint and may disperse the paint over a surface being painted. The backpack may be adapted to be worn by a user and may enable the user to move about without being constrained by a paint supply hose coupled between the spray gun and a compressor.
Abstract:
A dispensing system includes a container containing a flowable base formulation to be dispensed, an additive mixing device, and an actuable pump engine which draws the flowable base formulation from the container and pumps it through the mixing device. The additive mixing device includes a body with an internal cavity, an additive ingredient within the cavity, and a flow path/mixing chamber between an input and an output. With each pump of the device the additive ingredient is introduced into, and mixed with, a flow of the base formulation traveling through the mixing device. Multiple additive mixing devices may be interchangeable for different formulations, and the mixing devices may be refillable.
Abstract:
A portable misting system includes a housing, an air pump carried by the housing to provide a flow of air, a water reservoir carried by the housing to hold a supply of water, and a water pump carried by the water reservoir to provide a flow of water droplets. An air/water nozzle assembly is carried by the housing and includes a nozzle body and a misting nozzle coupled to an output of the nozzle body. The nozzle body has an air input coupled to the air pump to receive the flow of air, and a water input coupled to the water pump to receive the flow of water droplets.
Abstract:
According to one aspect of the invention, a method for directing the use of a sprayer includes the step of directing a user to affix a sprayer to a neck of a water bottle (114) via an attachment mechanism (112). The method further includes the step of directing the user to adjust the attachment mechanism (112) to change the internal geometry thereof and attach the sprayer to the neck of the bottle.
Abstract:
A sprayer system includes a trigger sprayer having a trigger, a pump mechanism, and a nozzle. The sprayer system further includes a solvent reservoir for accommodating a solvent substance and a bottle for accommodating a concentrate substance. Further, the solvent reservoir is positioned above the trigger sprayer and is in fluid communication with the trigger sprayer and the bottle is positioned below the trigger sprayer and is in fluid communication with the trigger sprayer.
Abstract:
A device and method for dispensing a liquid with a gas includes an instrument having a cannula and a low-pressure tip. The low-pressure tip includes a tip housing that at least partially defines a high pressure chamber. A distal wall of the tip housing includes an aperture in fluid communication with the high pressure chamber. The low-pressure tip also includes a tube and a gas flow channel. The tube fluidly communicates liquid at a relatively low pressure from the cannula through the first aperture. The gas flow channel fluidly communicates gas from the cannula at a relatively high pressure and to the high pressure chamber for discharge from the aperture. The tube and aperture are adapted to dispense the liquid and the gas in order to create a low pressure zone distal of the tube to dispense droplets of the liquid.
Abstract:
A high volume low pressure (HVLP) coating application system employing a rotary vane pump and manifold assembly that provides an improved source of air for increased spray gun atomization of high solid coatings and faster applications of more even coated surfaces with continuous HVLP pressures of 10 PSI at the spray gun output and the ability to power multiple spray guns and breathing apparatus from a single manifold system.
Abstract:

Abstract:
A spray gun for controlling a pressurized flow of water from a water source includes a housing, a garden hose coupling, a spray head, a valve, a trigger, and a mechanism coupled to the trigger and the valve. The housing has a conduit extending through the housing, defining a flow path for the pressurized flow of water. The garden hose coupling is located on a first end of the conduit, and the pressurized flow of water enters the spray gun by way of the garden hose coupling. The spray head is connected to the housing on a second end of the conduit, and the pressurized flow of water exits the spray gun by way of the spray head. The valve includes at least one of a ball valve and a barrel valve, and is positioned along the conduit between the first and second ends of the conduit. The valve is rotatable relative to the conduit to open, partially close, and fully close the flow path. Movement of the trigger is received by the mechanism and converted to a rotation of the valve.
