    Abstract: A collapsible air filter assembly for a heating and ventilation air conditioner (HVAC) system includes a filter element, and a frame supporting the filter element. The frame includes at least two edges each including a respective spring element configured to be moveable between an open state and a bent state. A compressible air filter assembly for an (HVAC) system includes a filter medium having rounded pleats configured to collapse and rebound in a controlled and repeatable manner between a compressed state and an original uncompressed state. A soft-wrapped filter assembly includes a frame in a box configuration. The frame includes rigid edges and openings to permit airflow. A filter element is encased by the frame. Flexible edge covers mounted on respective edges of the frame to provide an air seal in an HVAC system.

    Abstract: This document presents an apparatus for a flexible air filter media that can be configured for shipping and storage having one or more flexible inserts mounted to the filter media along one or more portions of the accordion folds of the air filter material. The current invention permits the air filter apparatus to fold along both X and Y axes, create a tri-fold, and bend in a manner that provides for a much smaller volume for shipping purposes. The invention also permits attaching the flexible material to the center of the filter media and also inserts which allow sections of the air filter media to be nested one into another to reduce both shipping and storage volume.

    Abstract: The present disclosure generally relates to air filters expandable from a collapsed arrangement to an expanded, end-use arrangement and to methods of making, using, and installing such air filters. Some embodiments relate to an air filter having an expanded state and a collapsed state. The air filter includes a filter media assembly including (1) filter media including a plurality of pleats, (2) first and second opposing sides, and (3) first and second opposing ends. The air filter also includes a shape retention structure capable of being connected to at least a portion of the filter media assembly and capable of retention the filter media assembly in the expanded state. A spacing distance between adjacent pleats in the filter media is greater in the expanded state of the air filter than in the collapsed state of the air filter. In some embodiments, the air filter is an HVAC air filter.

    Abstract: A magnetized fastening system for applying, over an opening and surrounding fascia of a structure, a covering material including either of a flexible or rigid outer reinforced extending perimeter within which is configured a plurality of receiving apertures. A plurality of rails are adapted to being secured to the fascia in extending fashion proximate the opening, each of the rails exhibiting a three dimensional cross sectional shape with a forwardly projecting support surface within which is configured an outwardly facing narrowed slot for receiving a plurality of fasteners for securing the edges of the covering. A magnetized insert secures together the elongated channels in perimeter defined fashion over the intake opening. This can further include any of the channels being magnetically attracting, the connectors magnetically attracting metal intake surface of the air handling unit, and/or an intermediate applied strip between the rear surfaces of the channels and the intake face (typically non-metallic or non-attracting in this variant), such providing an opposite polar attraction to the magnet contained in the corner “L” or intermediate, linear “T” or cross shaped inserts, such as which can include a rare earth magnet contained in a pocket configured on an inside face of the insert.

    Abstract: A collapsible filtration tank for a dust collector includes an outer frame, an engaging base and a filter. The outer frame is formed cylindrical, having plural meshes formed in its circumferential wall. The engaging base is formed annular, installed around the opening of the outer frame. The filter is inserted in a chamber of the outer frame and restrictively blocked by the blocking edge of the engaging base. Thus, the filter can be independently replaced with a new one instead of shifting the whole filtration tank.
