    摘要： An exhaust vent assembly with selectively removable top wall that includes an exhaust vent body with a base wall, two opposing sidewalls, a rear wall, and the top wall that is capable of being removed from the sidewalls to provide access to the inside (or vent channel) of the exhaust vent assembly. The top wall is capable of having a closed position with the top wall secured and covering the upper edges of the two opposing sidewalls and with a mesh screen coupled to the exhaust vent body that is capable of preventing animals, certain insects, and other matter from entering the vent channel. The top wall is configured to have an open position with the top wall substantially uncovering the upper edges of the two opposing sidewalls and providing access to the vent channel.

    摘要： A ceiling vent assembly incudes a ceiling vent having a pair of opposed end panels and a pair of opposed side panels, which define a frame that is open at its top and bottom. The frame receives two louvers pivotally mounted so as to be movable between open and closed positions. The ceiling vent assembly also includes first and second cables attached to the first and second louvers and a pulley assembly having a pair of vertically-oriented pulleys and a center pulley block having at least one horizontal pulley. The horizontal pulley has two vertically offset cable guides. Control rods pass through aligned rod openings in the end panels and pulley block. The pulley block has cable routing holes adjacent to each of the cable guides. The first cable is routed from the first louver, around the first vertical pulley, around one of the cable guides and then to one of the control rods, and the second cable is routed from the second louver, around the second vertical pulley, around the other one of the cable guides and then to one of the control rods such that the cables can be selectively routed so that the louvers can be controlled by either one of the control rods.

    摘要： A torsion spring ceiling grill that is reconfigurable to adapt smoothly to various thicknesses of ceiling tiles. The ceiling tile has an opening to which a grill plate and a backing plate correspond. The grill plate attaches to the backing plate via the torsion springs, clamping the ceiling tile in between. The torsion spring assemblies can be reconfigured by repositioning an axle of each torsion spring assembly in its respective slot in vertical spring support panels of the grill plate. The torsion spring assemblies can be releasably secured at any position along the slot. The backing plate has spring-receiving openings on a top horizontal panel that extends out over the opening in the ceiling tile to receive arms of the torsion springs. Arms of the torsion springs may be bound by a severable connector which is severed by a blade above the top horizontal panel during installation.
