摘要: A system and method for reducing the risk of fire in an oxygen delivery system. The system may include an oxygen delivery device with a controller in communication with a flow control valve to control a flow of oxygen through a tubing from an oxygen source to a patient interface. The controller may be programmed to close the flow control valve for a predetermined time period at a predetermined time interval to cause a periodic oxygen pause, the periodic oxygen pause to remove oxygen that may serve as an oxidizer when a fire is present inside at least one of the patient interface and the tubing.

摘要: A flow generator for generating a mixed oxygen air flow, the flow generator including a body having a first inlet, a second inlet, an outlet, and one or more inner surfaces that define a first inner chamber in fluid communication with the first inlet and the second inlet, a second inner chamber in fluid communication with the first inner chamber, and a third inner chamber in fluid communication with the second chamber and the outlet of the body. The flow generator includes a connector disposed in the first inlet and a nozzle disposed within at least a portion of the connector and extending into the first inner chamber. The flow generator further includes an adapter engaged to the nozzle to form a fluid tight path such that the adapter connects to an external oxygen source and transports oxygen into the nozzle.

摘要: The present invention is directed a ventilation system used in the diagnostic imaging of a patient's pulmonary function, and more particularly, is directed to a disposable radioactive inhalation adaptor to be used in conjunction with standard ventilation apparatus. More specifically, the invention involves a hand-held ventilation system which delivers oxygen as well as the appropriate dose of Xenon-133 gas to the patient without contaminating the area. The claimed ventilation system is particularly designed for use with patients who cannot breathe on their own or who cannot cooperate with the standard respiratory diagnostic imaging apparatus.

摘要: A disposable anesthesia device that is completely assembled and ready to use in administering anesthetic gas from a source thereof to a patient. The device provides a closed circuit connectable with a conventional anesthesia machine and consisting of a face mask, a rebreathing bag, a canister containing granular carbon dioxide absorbing material, flexible inhalation and exhalation tubes connecting the face mask with the canister and the rebreathing bag, and flap-like inhalation and exhalation valves, all parts of the device, with the exception of the granular canister contents, but including the valves, being molded or otherwise made of plastic and hence economically disposable after one use thereof to preclude the danger of patient cross contamination.
