摘要: A process for a therapeutic bladder pressure estimator is operative with a pump connected, in sequence, to a first hose, a supply pressure sensor, a second hose, a bladder having an inlet coupled to the second hose, a bladder outlet coupled to a third hose of substantially equal length to the second hose, a return pressure sensor, and a fourth hose coupled to the return pressure sensor and returning fluid from the pump to the reservoir. The process forms an error signal from the difference between a setpoint and the average of the supply and return pressures. A head pressure measurement may be done by turning the pump off after a steady state reading is made.

摘要: A device to change the temperature of a localized volume of material. One device includes at least one heat transfer mechanism having a conformable external surface for direct contact with a surface of the material. A working fluid is directed by input and output conduits to contact an internal surface of the heat transfer mechanism. A wall of the heat transfer mechanism exchanges heat between the working fluid and the material. Temperature of the working fluid may be regulated by a thermal control system disposed at a remote location. An optional temperature sensing element may monitor a local temperature of the heat transfer mechanism or otherwise infer a temperature of a portion of the material. Portions of certain devices may be deformed to a desired device shape.

摘要: A brain cooling apparatus is provided that can circulate a fluid between a containing unit of a brain cooling device and the brain cooling apparatus while maintaining an appropriate pressure of the fluid in the containing unit, and a brain cooling device suitable thereto also is provided. A control device circulates a physiological saline solution between a storage tank and a cuff by driving a first pump in a direction in which the physiological saline solution flows toward the cuff, and driving a second pump in a direction in which the physiological saline solution flows toward the storage tank. In this state, the control device adjusts the rotation speed of at least the second pump, so that the pressure of the physiological saline solution in the cuff becomes a preset target pressure.

摘要: A cold bandage made of various sizes and shapes for application to various portions of the body of a patient, which patient may be either animal or human. The bandage includes outer enclosing means containing at least one bag of volatile refrigerant with an opening in that bag to enhance vaporization of the refrigerant. Where the outer enclosing means are in the form of an envelope, sealed gas tight, with at least one bag opening into the interior of that envelope, the bandage will become inflated by virtue of the refrigerant volatilizing and intimately conform to the portion of the body to which the bandage is applied, thus providing both reduced temperature and pressure. The bandage is highly desirable for use to relieve a traumatized area, reduce inflamatory edema and pain, rapidly decrease hemorrhage, reduce the possibility of infection, minimize tissue damage, and effectively treat burns, among many other applicatory uses.

摘要: Devices and method for warm gas therapy is provided. Device comprises a gas warmer assembly to warm a first gas to a temperature in a first temperature range to obtain warm first gas. The device comprises a first delivery unit that can deliver the warm first gas to a main treatment chamber which encloses a sub-treatment chamber to retain heat therein. A second delivery unit can receive a therapeutic gas from a gas supply. The second delivery unit comprises a first portion and a second portion. The first portion substantially passes through the first delivery unit and therapeutic gas in the first portion is warmed by the warm first gas. The second portion delivers the warm therapeutic gas to a sub-treatment chamber. The sub-treatment chamber encloses a body part of a patient.
