摘要: A thermal control unit for controlling a patient's temperature includes a fluid outlet for delivering temperature-controlled fluid to a patient, a pump, a heat exchanger, a controller, and a user interface that displays a graph of patient temperature readings over time. The user interface also displays one or more event icons on the graph at locations corresponding to the time at which events associated with the event icons occurred. In some embodiments, the graph is displayed on a touch screen adapted to allow a user set maximum and minimum permissible temperatures for the fluid by touching areas of the graphs and/or by drawing on certain areas of the graph. An image of a human body having different zones may also be displayed on the user interface along with information pertaining to the thermal therapy being applied to the corresponding zones of the patient's body.

摘要: A multi-layer pad for monitoring a patient includes first and second knitted fabric layers. The first knitted fabric layer includes first and second non-conductive bands and a first conductive strip that extend in a first direction. The first conductive strip is between the first and second non-conductive bands and is in contact with a power source. The second knitted fabric layer includes third and fourth non-conductive bands and a second conductive strip that extend in a second direction. The second conductive strip is between the third and fourth non-conductive bands and is in contact with the power source. A spacer is between the first and second knitted fabric layers. An impermeable cover layer encompasses the knitted fabric layers and the spacer. Upon application of force to the multi-layer pad, the first conductive strip is configured to move into close proximity with the second conductive strip and complete an electrical circuit.

摘要: A thermal control device for an ocular surgery system is provided, including a fluid heater interface module (FHIM) having an inflow port for receiving balanced salt solution (BSS) from the ocular surgery system, an outflow port for dispensing the BSS to a probe of the ocular surgery system, and internal heat transfer channels between the inflow port and the outflow port. A heating element is disposed adjacent to the FHIM to heat the heat transfer channels in the FHIM. A temperature sensor is disposed adjacent the outflow port. A microcontroller is provided to control heat output from the heating element. A user interface is provided with an outlet temperature control adjuster. A dynamic, precise temperature control of portions of the eye via the BSS is obtained. A method utilizing the FHIM is also provided.

摘要: An electric heating pad for warming a patient. The electric heating pad may be a heated underbody support, heated mattress or heated mattress overlay. An embodiment of the heating pad includes a flexible sheet-like heating element including an upper edge, a lower edge, and at least two side edges. The heating pad may also include a shell covering the heating element and comprising at least two sheets of flexible material (e.g., two sheets may be one sheet folded over to form at least two sheets). The two sheets of flexible material may be coupled together about the edges of the heating element by a weld. The material of the two sheets may include urethane. In some embodiments, a catalyst to accelerate hydrogen peroxide decomposition is coated on or impregnated into an element within the shell, or on the interior surface of the shell.

摘要: Treatment systems, methods, and apparatuses for improving the appearance of skin or other target regions are described as well as for providing for other treatments. Aspects of the technology are directed to improving the appearance of skin by tightening the skin, improving skin tone or texture, eliminating or reducing wrinkles, increasing skin smoothness, or improving the appearance of cellulite. Treatments can include cooling a surface of a patient's skin and detecting at least one freeze event in the cooled skin. The treatment system can continue cooling the patient's skin after the freeze event(s) are detected so to maintain at least a partially frozen state of the tissue for a period of time.

摘要: Methods of operating a haptic actuator to apply physical and/or thermal sensations to a user to provide subjective symptom relief to a user are described. In some embodiments, a haptic actuator may be automatically activated when one or more detected user states are compared to one or more predetermined activation parameters to determine the user is experiencing an episode related to a condition of the user. In another embodiment, one or more operating parameters of a haptic actuator may be updated if the haptic actuator did not provided a desired amount of subjective symptom relief to a user during use. In yet another embodiment, a haptic actuator may create an event log based on activation events when the haptic actuator is used to provide symptom relief for a condition of the user.

摘要: The present disclosure relates to a massage stone heater, and belongs to the technical field of massage apparatuses. In the present disclosure, a user issues an instruction by means of operating the button of the controller, so that the circuit board in the controller supplies power to heating mechanisms inside the heating plates; the heating mechanisms generate heat after being powered on; and the heat of the heating mechanisms is conducted to the massage stones and the massage oil bottle through metal heat conduction plates of the heating plates.

摘要: The cooling system (100, 300, 400, 500, 700, 750) includes an applicator (101, 501, 701) configured to hold a predetermined amount of solid coolant and fluid coolant (117) to cool a targeted area of the body (162, 570) to crystalize the lipid-rich cells underneath the targeted area to reduce the fat cells. The applicator may include a thermoelectric cooler (TEC, 136, 704, 706) where the hot side is cooled by coolant held within the applicator. The cold side of the TEC may be thermally coupled to a cooling plate (138, 560) configured to cool a targeted area of the skin at a predetermined temperature range for a predetermined period of time. The cooling system may also be used to relieve localized pain at certain area of the body and/or utilized for cryotherapy.
