摘要: An end-effector and a surgical instrument including the end-effector are disclosed. The end-effector includes a clamp arm and an ultrasonic blade configured to acoustically couple to an ultrasonic transducer and to electrically couple to a pole of an electrical generator. The clamp arm incudes a clamp jaw, a cantilever electrode, and a clamp arm. The cantilever electrode is biased in a direction toward the clamp jaw and the clamp arm includes a retainer to oppose a biasing force and maintain the cantilever electrode in a substantially flat configuration relative to the ultrasonic blade. A skirt may be disposed around the clamp jaw. The clamp arm pad may include multiple support elements arranged in multiple rows to support the cantilever electrode.

摘要: A medical device and can remove an object inside a biological lumen while allowing a positional change of the device inside the biological lumen. The medical device includes a drive shaft, an outer tube accommodating the drive shaft, a cutting portion fixed to a distal portion of the drive shaft, and a hub unit housing proximal portions of the drive shaft and the outer tube. The hub unit has an operation unit fixed to the outer surface of the outer tube to rotate the outer tube, a first support portion rotatably supporting the operation unit, a first housing having an aspiration port for discharging fluid to outside, and causing communication of an aspiration lumen of the outer tube with the aspiration port, and a first seal between the first housing and the outer tube. The first support portion and the first seal are disposed in parallel along an axial direction.

摘要: An ultrasonic surgical instrument comprises a shaft assembly including a waveguide, and an end effector arranged at a distal end of the shaft assembly and including an ultrasonic blade and a clamp arm. The instrument also comprises a base translatably coupled to shaft assembly. The base includes a first mechanical input and a second mechanical input. The instrument further comprises a closure actuation mechanism operatively connected between the first mechanical input and the clamp arm and configured to actuate the clamp arm from an open position toward a closed position upon selective drive of the first mechanical input. The instrument also includes an insertion actuation mechanism operatively connected between the second mechanical input and the shaft assembly and configured to actuate the shaft assembly from a proximal position toward a distal position upon selective drive of the second mechanical input for insertion of the end effector.

摘要: A surgical instrument end effector assembly includes a first jaw member defining an insulative tissue-contacting surface and first and second electrically-conductive tissue-contacting surfaces disposed on either side of the insulative tissue-contacting surface. A second jaw member includes an ultrasonic blade body positioned to oppose the insulative tissue-contacting surface of the first jaw member. The first jaw member is movable relative to the second jaw member between a spaced-apart position and an approximated position to apply a first grasping force to tissue disposed therebetween. A slider is movable, independent of the first jaw member, between a retracted position, wherein the slider is disposed proximally of the first and second jaw members, and an extended position, wherein the slider extends about the first jaw member and urges the first jaw member from the approximated position further towards the second jaw member to apply a second, greater grasping force to tissue.

摘要: A surgical system includes a surgical instrument having a body, an ultrasonic transducer, a shaft extending distally from the body, and an end effector at a distal end of the shaft and being operable to treat tissue with ultrasonic energy. An accessory device is configured to operatively couple the surgical instrument with a generator operable to power the surgical instrument to provide ultrasonic energy. A primary EEPROM is provided within the instrument body and is operable to track usage of the surgical instrument. The system further includes at least one of: an accessory EEPROM integrated into the accessory device and being operable to track usage of the accessory device; a transducer EEPROM integrated into the ultrasonic transducer and being operable to track usage of the ultrasonic transducer; or an ASIC integrated into the accessory device and being operable to communicate with the generator regarding a state of the surgical instrument.

A tissue treatment portion of the ultrasonic blade includes a linear blade region extending parallel to the longitudinal axis, a curved blade region extending distally from the linear blade region along a curved path that deflects laterally from the longitudinal axis, an upper treatment side, a lower treatment side, a first lateral side having a first sweeping side surface, and a second lateral side having a second sweeping side surface. The sweeping side surfaces define respective first and second side edges of a transverse cross-section of the tissue treatment portion, and are configured such that the first and second side edges are parallel to one another.

摘要: A surgical system for providing an improved video image of a surgical site including a system controller that receives and processes video images to determine a video signature corresponding to a condition that interferes with a quality of the video images, with the system controller interacting with a video enhancer to enhance the video images from a video capturing device to automatically control the video enhancer to enhance the video images. The surgical system can also review the video images for a trigger event and automatically begin or stop recording of the video images upon occurrence of the trigger event.

摘要: A tool bit for an ultrasonic osteotome includes a bit body, an arbor fixed to the bit body, and a flat end portion fixed to the arbor. A toothed edge extends linearly along a length direction of an end portion of the tool bit, and recesses are distributed evenly on the toothed edge to form teeth spaced apart from each other. The toothed edge extends linearly along a length direction, and the cutting edges of teeth are distributed linearly, e.g., instead of having a sharp structure, thus will not scrape and hurt other tissues during cutting. Since the thickness of the cutting edge is the same as that of the back edge, when cutting bone tissues, the incision is wide, thus the end portion is not easy to be clamped by bone tissue, which effectively prevents the end portion from breaking and reduces occurrence chances of surgery accidents.

A pair of hook portions are located on opposite sides of the blade. A method of fabricating an ultrasonic surgical device is also provided.

The jaw member is configured to move relative to the ultrasonic blade and is configured to contact the top portion.
