    摘要: A method for reconstructing an image from emission data includes generating a compressed point-spread function matrix, generating an accumulated attenuation factor; and performing at least one image projection operation on an image matrix of the emission data using the compressed point-spread function matrix and the accumulated attenuation factor. The image projection operation can include rotating an image matrix and an exponential attenuation map to align with a selected viewing angle. An accumulated attenuation image is then generated from the rotated image matrix and rotated exponential attenuation map and a projection image is generated for each voxel by multiplying the accumulated attenuation image and point spread function matrix for each voxel. The rotating and multiplying operations can be performed on a graphics processing unit, which may be found in a commercially available video processing card, which are specifically designed to efficiently perform such operations.

    摘要: A formulation including injectable biodegradable nanospheres and/or microspheres as a delivery system for chondroitinase ABC (cABC) or a functional derivative of cABC to treat acute and chronic spinal chord injury in a mammal having the same is provided. The biodegradable nanosphere/microsphere formulation releases cABC or a functional derivative of cABC in a time-released manner at the site of the spinal cord injury. cABC infusion can promote axon regrowth and some behavioral recovery. The nanospheres and/or microspheres provided herein include cABC or a functional derivative of cABC loaded within and/or on a biodegradable polymer matrix. In some embodiments of the present invention, the surface of the biodegradable polymer matrix can be modified to target a specific scar site. In addition to providing a nanosphere formulation that include polymeric incorporated cABC, a method of treating a mammal having a spinal cord injury is also provided.

    摘要: The present invention relates to compositions and methods for calcifying dental tissue, e.g., preventing or treating dental hypersensitivity. An oral composition of arginine bicarbonate and calcium carbonate promotes the formation of dentinal tubule plugs aided by combining calcium and phosphate in the fluid. In a specific example, an arginine bicarbonate/calcium carbonate mixture blocked dentinal tubules in a model system. In addition to treating dentinal sensitivity, the compositions and methods of the invention provide for calcifying exposed tooth pulp, calcifying the base or all of a pit or fissure in a tooth, and treating a carious lesion.
