Abstract:
A four blend for producing fried instant noodles and a method for producing fied instant noodles from the flour blend. The flour blend contains farina, sodium lactate, and oligosaccharide. The fried instant noodles prepared from the flour of the present invention can be cooked within a short time, have a reduced oil absorption during deep-frying, and yet maintain excellent texture and taste.
Abstract:
Hepatic diseases can be prevented or treated by administering an isoprenylamine derivative represented by the general formula (II) ##STR1## [wherein n represents an integer of 4-12, m represents an integer of 0-3, Ar represents a phenyl group, a furyl group, a thienyl group or a pyridyl group, said group being optionally substituted with one or more of an alkyl group of 1-4 carbon atoms, and alkoxy group of 1-4 carbon atoms, a methylenedioxy group, a hydroxy group or a halogen atom, and R represents a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group of 1-4 carbon atoms] or a pharmacologically acceptable salt thereof at a daily dose of 0.01-500 .mu.g/kg.A lipid emulsion of the compound (II) is particularly useful and can be administered at a remarkably lowered dose as compared with other pharmaceutical preparations.
Abstract:
A process for producing a ceramic-base sinter, comprising sintering coated ceramic particles wherein the particles are prepared for sintering by the steps of: dispersing a powder of ceramic core particles in a gaseous atmosphere to form a mixture of a gas and particles in a powder of highly dispersed core particles; charging a precursor for the coat forming substance that has been formed via the vapor phase and/or a precursor for the coat forming substance in a vapor-phase state and the mixture of the gas and the powder of highly dispersed core particles that have a predetermined dispersity according to the average diameter of the core particles in a coating start region of a coating space; coating the surfaces of the core particles with the coat forming substance by allowing the precursor to contact and/or impinge against the core particles; shaping and sintering the thus coated ceramic core particles or a mixture containing them under appropriate sintering conditions. The ceramic-base sinter of high performance thus produced is uniform, dense, and sintered firmly to provide a fine and highly controlled microstructure.
Abstract:
A method for manufacturing a fried instant noodle wherein noodle strings comprising cereal flours, a chemical leavening agent and at least one enzyme selected from the group consisting of amylase and protease are steamed and then fried. The fried instant noodles exhibit a low oil absorption, a low calorie content, no oily odor or flavor and superior gastronomical taste and texture. The noodles can be reconstituted to a ready to eat state in a short time.
Abstract:
An agent for inhibiting an accumulation of visceral fat is disclosed which comprises an amylase inhibitor of wheat origin as an active ingredient. The agent is effective for inhibiting the accumulation of visceral fat in the viscus, thus preventing the visceral fat obesity which may be one of the causes of adult diseases.
Abstract:
A sifter frame is composed of a pair of frame elements including an outer frame and an inner frame, and the outer frame is formed from a frame member having the same height and includes a pair of fine powder dropping ports, a rough powder dropping port and a rectangular fine powder receiving plate disposed in a region surrounded by these openings and one of the outer block frame members and the inner frame is fitted with the space above the receiving plate. A pair of the outer frame members of the inner frame in contact with the fine powder dropping ports of the inner frame are projected more to the rough powder dropping port than the outer block frame members of the inner frame in contact with the rough powder dropping port of the outer frame, receiving portions are provided with the outer frame in correspondence with the above arrangement so that the projected portions of the inner frame are placed thereon as well as the surfaces where the projected portions are engaged with the receiving portions are formed to an arc shape in order to that a depressing force of an upper stage sifter frame is applied to the engaging surfaces where the inner frame of a lower stage sifter frame is engaged with the outer frame thereof as a sealing force. With the above arrangement, there is provided a novel stacking type sifter frame by which the mixture of rough powder with fine powder can be securely prevented while limiting a portion to be periodically replaced to a minimum necessary portion.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a process for the production of a fermenting material which comprises using 5-100% by weight of a dried gluten product and 95-0% by weight of wheat as a raw material, adding steam to the material so as to adjust the moisture content of the material to within a range of 12-18%, and granulating followed by steaming.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a fiber of an organic, inorganic or metallic material or a simple substance wherein ultrafines of an inorganic or metallic material or a simple substance having an average particle diameter of 0.005-1 .mu.m are uniformly dispersed and deposited on 8-90% of the surface in a single layer. The fiber is produced by exposing a fiber of an organic, inorganic or metallic material or a simple substance to a gaseous stream forming ultrafines of an inorganic or metallic material or a simple substance by a vapor phase process, thereby contacting said ultrafines in the gaseous stream with said fiber in a state wherein the ultrafines are still active. The treated fiber is useful as a reinforcing material for a fiber reinforced composite.
Abstract:
A powder of diamond or high-pressure phase boron nitride core particles charged into a coating space as it is dispersed, and a precursor of a coat forming substance allowed to contact and/or impinge against the particles in the powder of core particles so that their surfaces are covered with the coat forming substance, thereby preparing coated diamond or high-pressure phase boron nitride particles which are subsequently sintered. The thusly produced diamond of high-pressure phase boron nitride sinter is composed of coated core particles of high performance that are superhard, uniform, dense and sintered firmly, and which have a controlled microstructure.
Abstract:
A human endothelin converting enzyme (ECE) has been isolated from blood and placenta. The enzyme has the activity of converting big endothelin-1, -2, or -3 to endothelin-1, -2, or -3 respectively. The enzyme has a mass of about 5.4.times.10.sup.5 by gel filtration, a pH optimum of 6.5 to 7.5, and a hydrated density of less than 1.210. The enzyme is inhibited by EDTA, phosphoramidon, thiorphan, chymostatin and phenylmethylsulfonylfluoride (PMSF). The enzyme is precipitated by 0.65% dextran sulfate or 0.2M manganese chloride. The enzyme can be inactivated by oxidation by copper ion.
