Abstract: A transport unit includes: a transporting device that turns a pad 90 degrees while the pad rotates from a receiving position to a transfer position; and first and second receiving rollers that sandwich a sheet and an absorbent body between a holding surface and the respective receiving rollers at the transfer position. The holding surface includes first and second sloped surfaces that are aligned along a pad rotating shaft which extends at the transfer position. The first and second receiving rollers have outer diameters decreasing from proximal ends to distal ends and are disposed such that the distal ends are positioned on sides of first and second ends of the holding surface, respectively. The first and second receiving rollers are disposed so as to sandwich the sheet and the absorbent body between the first and second sloped surfaces and the first and second receiving rollers, respectively.

Abstract: A sheet-feeding system includes a holding part which holds an end portion of a sheet, a nozzle part for discharging an adhesive agent for joining sheets to each other, and a nozzle moving unit which supports the nozzle part such that the nozzle part is made movable within a region including both temporarily holding parts, in which when a sheet joining condition is established where a remaining amount of the sheet on one original sheet roll becomes equal to or below a predetermined remaining amount, an end portion of the sheet on the other original sheet roll is conveyed to the temporarily holding part by the holding part and, thereafter, the nozzle part is moved to the temporarily holding part, and the adhesive agent is discharged to the end portion of the sheet from the nozzle part.

The connecting mechanism is connected to the suction members in a state where the suction members are movable in a radial direction of the circle about the first axis. The support mechanism supports the holding mechanism and the drive device such that the holding mechanism and the drive device are relatively movable from each other in a direction orthogonal to the first axis.

The method also includes moving the second opening-closing portion such that it extends from an upstream-side edge of the first opening-closing portion toward an upstream side of a movement direction, during a time period during which the upstream-side edge of the first opening-closing portion overlaps the distribution port. Further, the method includes setting a difference between timings at which the first and second opening-closing portion overlap the distribution port, respectively.

Abstract: A sheet delivery system includes: an end section detector which detects a position of an end section of a sheet; an end section conveying apparatus which holds the end section of the sheet and which conveys the end section of the sheet to a joining unit; a roll driving motor which rotationally drives a standby-side original material roll around a central axis thereof; and a suction roller which is capable of coming into rolling contact with an outer peripheral surface of the standby-side original material roll, and which includes an outer peripheral surface capable of suctioning the end section of the sheet in order to separate the end section of the sheet from the standby-side original material roll. The end section detector is attached at a position which enables detection of the end section of the sheet separated from the standby-side original material roll by the suction roller.

Abstract: A joining unit includes: a suction holding member having a suction surface configured to suction an end section of a sheet; a moving mechanism configured to move the suction surface toward an intermediate section of a sheet of a delivery-side original material roll along a path set in advance so that tension is applied to the sheet; and a regulating mechanism that is configured to switch between a regulated state in which a movement of the end section of the sheet with respect to the suction holding member due to the tension is regulated and an allowable state in which the movement of the end section of the sheet with respect to the suction holding member is allowed. The controller switches the regulating mechanism to the regulated state during the movement of the suction surface toward the intermediate section of the sheet of the delivery-side original material roll.

Abstract: A sheet delivery system includes: a joining unit configured to join, to an intermediate section of a sheet being delivered from a delivery-side original material roll, an end section of a sheet of a standby-side original material roll; and an operation robot configured to retrieve the end section of the sheet from the standby-side original material roll and convey the end section of the sheet to the joining unit. The sheet delivery system is configured to set, in advance, a sheet retrieval position at which the sheet is retrieved from each of the original material rolls, for each of the original material rolls. The operation robot is configured to convey the end section of the sheet from each of the sheet retrieval positions to the joining unit.

Abstract: When a remaining amount of a sheet on one original sheet roll is equal to or less than a predetermined remaining amount, a pair of holding pads is brought into a first posture where holding surfaces are opened, and the holding surface of one holding pad is pressed to a joining end portion from the outside of the original sheet roll in a radial direction of another original sheet roll. Further, the holding pad is moved such that the joining end portion is separated toward the outside of the original sheet roll in the radial direction. Further, the posture of the pair of holding pads is changed into a second posture where the holding surfaces approach each other, and the joining end portion is conveyed to a joining part in a state where the joining end portion is sandwiched between the holding surfaces of the pair of holding pads.
