    摘要: An apparatus for driving a light-emitting display controls the light-emission of light-emitting elements in such a manner that a driving current or driving voltage having a prescribed value to be supplied to the light-emitting elements is turned on or off by an on/off signal from a driving unit. The driving apparatus includes a pixel read section for reading the luminance values for the light-emitting elements in a frame period from an image signal and a ΔΣ modulator which operates in a sub-frame period which is 1/n of the frame period according to the luminance values read by the pixel read section. The output of “1” or “0” from ΔΣ modulator is served as the on/off signal. The driving apparatus can further includes a random data generator for providing random luminance values for the individual pixels. In an image displaying operation, the output from the random data generator is directly supplied to the ΔΣ modulator in place of the output from the pixel read section, or otherwise added to the output from the pixel read section. This configuration provides an image with good quality and naturalness in the luminance by the driving at low speed.

    摘要: A display panel driving device has a simple substrate structure. Amorphous silicon material or organic semiconductor material can be used for the substrate structure. A data code wiring group which is the base of row addresses of the display panel, and an address electrode line wiring group, intersect each other. The two wiring groups sandwich a compound layer of an insulating film and a semiconductor film. By providing disconnected portions at prescribed intersecting points on the address electrode lines, MOS type transistors are formed at the disconnected portions. A logic circuit is configured for row address decoding, in which MOS type transistors are connected in series to a single address electrode line.

    摘要: Disclosed is a method for driving a display apparatus with capacitive light-emitting devices, which enables to suppress consumption power. The method includes the steps of; (1) selecting non-connection keeping drive lines among all of the drive lines which are not connected to the drive source in a previous scan period and a present scan period, in the reset period, connecting all of the scan lines to the same reset potential and connecting the selected non-connection keeping drive lines to the ground potential while connecting the other drive lines to the reset potential, or (2) selecting unconnected drive lines among all of the drive lines which are not connected to the drive source in a present scan period, in the reset period, connecting all of the scan lines to the same reset potential and connecting the selected unconnected drive lines to the ground potential while connecting the other drive lines to the reset potential.
