Abstract: Techniques described herein may be used to conserver battery power of an Internet of Things (IoT) tracker by increasing the overall amount of time that the IoT tracker is in a battery conservation mode (a sleep mode, a Power Save Mode (PSM), etc.). An IoT tracker may implement a battery conservation policy that may include instructions that cause the IoT tracker to monitor certain conditions, determine when the conditions satisfy a particular trigger, and implement a battery conservation mode in response to those conditions. Examples of such conditions may include (1) the IoT tracker being close to a user device designated to track the location of the IoT tracker, (2) identifying that a current time and day are associated with a pre-selected schedule for disabling tracking services, (3) the IoT tracker being located within a particular geographic area, and more.

Abstract: A method includes configuring a device, which is capable of operating in accordance with a first capability level, at a second capability level that is less than the first capability level. Abstract: A device may determine that a transmission of network traffic, associated with a wireless device, is complete. The transmission of network traffic may be between the wireless device and a base station associated with a network. The device may transmit a request to disconnect from the network based on determining that the transmission of network traffic is complete. The device may transfer the wireless device to the power saving mode based on receiving a response, to the request, that grants permission to disconnect from the network. The power saving mode being associated with one or more components of the wireless device being shut down.

Abstract: A wireless local area network (WLAN) operations status with regard to a wireless access point may be changed for a user equipment (UE). A request, based on changing the WLAN operations status for the UE, may be sent to a base station. The request may cause the base station to send, to the UE, a first message based on the request. The first message may be received from the base station. A second message, based on the first message, may be sent to the base station. The second message may cause the base station to change availability of a radio service based on changing the WLAN operations status for the UE.
