Abstract: A device may provide path data identifying a primary path and one or more alternate paths for segment routing traffic in the network, and may receive performance data indicating a performance degradation in the primary path. The device may determine that the performance data satisfies a first threshold, and may request, based on the performance data satisfying the first threshold, alternate path performance data. The device may receive the alternate path performance data based on the request, and may compare the alternate path performance data for the one or more alternate paths. The device may select a particular alternate path, of the one or more alternate paths, based on comparing the alternate path performance data for the one or more alternate paths, and may trigger, based on the performance data satisfying a second threshold, a failover of the traffic from the primary path and to the particular alternate path.

Abstract: A method, a device, and a non-transitory storage medium are described in which a network slice deployment service is described. The network slice deployment service includes storing network resource and capability information that indicates available network resources in a network. Network level requirement information pertaining to a request for network service from a user is generated. The network level requirement information is used to select available network resources based on the network resource capability information. The network slice deployment service calculates network resource utilization associated with available network resources so that optimal usage of network resources can be selected and end-to-end network slice deployment layout information can be generated and used to provision a network slice deployment layout that supports the request for network service.

Abstract: A network device obtains service requirements associated with a customer identifier, obtains a first profile describing an infrastructure design of multiple transport domains associated with at least one network slice of a network, and obtains a second profile describing performance characteristics of the multiple transport domains of the at least one network slice. The network device receives training data associated with performance measurements of the multiple transport domains of the at least one network slice, and updates a machine learning model based on the training data. The network device selects at least one of the multiple transport domains for orchestration using the updated machine learning model, the service requirements, the first profile, and the second profile.

Abstract: A system may receive a first definition for a virtualized instance of a network function. The first definition may include a first set of declarations in a first format that is different than respective formats supported by different virtualized environments. The system may select a first virtualized environment to run the virtualized instance based on requirements specified within the first definition, and may generate a second definition with a second set of declarations that map the first set of declarations from the first format to a second format supported by the first virtualized environment. The system may deploy the virtualized instance to the first virtualized environment using the second set of declarations from the second definition. Deploying the virtualized instance may include configuring its operation based on some of the second set of declarations matching a configuration format supported by the first virtualized environment.
