摘要: A safety arrangement is provided to protect an internal combustion engine from excessive temperatures in case of an abnormality in its circulating cooling system. In response to failure of an electrical coolant pump, the safety arrangement generates signals for retarding the ignition and/or reducing the fuel injection and/or limiting the charge so as to limit the load and/or the speed of the internal combustion engine.

摘要: In the embodiment disclosed in the specification an evaporation cooling system for an internal combustion engine heat exchanger avoids valves or the like by providing a liquid-vapor separator in the vapor line between the engine and the main condenser and a bypass line for liquid coolant which bypasses the main condenser leading to a condensate line having a pump. When the temperature of the engine is high enough for coolant to vaporize, the vapor passes through the vapor line and the separator to the main condenser. A heat exchanger for a vehicle heater is disposed in the condensate line so that it always receives all of the coolant in circulation.

摘要: An evaporation-cooled internal combustion engine, in which a cooling system, through which a coolant can flow, and to which pressure can be applied, is connected with an equalization container, where the equalization container is connected to a steam-filled zone of the cooling system by means of a connection line. At least one auxiliary means to reduce the interior pressure in the cooling system is assigned to the equalization container.
