Abstract: According to an embodiment, an electronic device may include at least one processor, a display, a memory configured to store image frames, and a display controller configured to output the image frames. The at least one processor may be configured to transmit a first image frame to be output through the display, based on a first timing signal received from the display controller, identify a state of the electronic device, transmit first control information for changing a timing of the first timing signal, in response to transmitting the first control information for changing the timing of the first timing signal, receive a second timing signal from the display controller, and transmit, to the memory, a second image frame to be output through the display, based on the received second timing signal. The timing of the second timing signal may differ from the timing of the first timing signal.

The first parameter is the frequency of a first synchronization signal generated in the display driving circuit, the second parameter is the increase or decrease in a blank area to substitute for a portion of active video area in frame information, and the third parameter is the frequency of a second synchronization signal for rendering.

The memory can store instructions, when executed, which allow the process to: draw an image in response to a periodic synchronization signal; compose the drawl image in response to the synchronization signal after the drawing of the image; transmit the composed image to the display controller in response to synchronization signal after the composing of the image; measure, after the transmitting of the composed image, a first standby time until the next synchronization signal is generated; perform control such that the display panel displays an image in response to the generation of the next synchronization signal; determine a first offset value on the basis of the first standby time; and determine an image composition time point by applying the first offset value to the periodic synchronization Additionally, various examples are possible.

The processor is configured to, while the electronic device is in a slide-in state, display, on the main display area, a first screen corresponding to an application executed in the slide-in state; based on a portion of the expansion display area being slid out, generate a second screen to be displayed on the main display area and a portion of the slid-out expansion display area; generate a slide effect screen and display the same on at least a portion of the slid-out expansion display area, at least at the same time as the generation of the second screen; and based on the generation of the second screen being completed, remove the display of the slide effect screen and display the second screen on the main display area and the slid-out expansion display area.
