Abstract: A system and a method are disclosed for multi-slot resource reservations in new radio (NR) sidelink (SL) using the unlicensed spectrum. Embodiments include determining, by an NR user equipment (UE), a multi-slot reservation configuration, wherein the multi-slot reservation configuration comprises a plurality of reservation slots corresponding to a time domain and frequency domain; performing, by the NR UE, a listen-before-talk (LBT) operation; and in response to LBT operation, indicating, by the NR UE, a selection of a plurality of multi-slot resources in the time domain and the frequency domain on which to transmit one or more signals, the plurality of multi-slot resources corresponding to the plurality of reservation slots of the multi-slot reservation configuration. Embodiments further include updates to Mode 2 signaling including the plurality of multi-slot resources is further based on an evaluation of a high-layer parameter, and/or selecting a single-candidate resource slot, based on consecutive subsequent slots.

The UE may receive the beam failure measurement configuration based on a preconfigured uplink resources (PUR) response. The UE may receive the beam failure measurement configuration based on a system information block (SIB) transmission.

Abstract: A system and a method are disclosed for beam refinement to enable inactive mode transmission in frequency range 2 for 3GPP RedCap devices. A RedCap device receives system information in a SIB1 from a wireless network in which the SIB1 includes information relating to an indication of resources used to transmit a SIB-x. The device receives the SIB-x, which includes an indication of at least one resource, at least one configuration for a Downlink-Reference Signal (DL-RS) transmission, and information relating to a measurement report relating to the beam-refinement measurement that is to be performed by a device. The device receives the DL-RS transmission from the wireless communication network, performs the beam-refinement measurement, and sends a measurement report to the wireless network. Subsequent to sending the measurement report, the device sends an enhanced transmission to the wireless network based on the measurement report.

Abstract: A system and a method are disclosed for accessing a wireless medium for a NR-U deployed at 60 GHz. A directional CCA sensing is performed on a set of multiple beams in the medium in which each beam is oriented in a different direction. It is determined whether at least one beam of is busy and, if so, a back-off timer is initialized. The back-off timer is decreased by a predetermined amount based on a determination that all beams of the set of multiple beams are idle. The back-off timer is repeatedly decreased the predetermined amount based on a determination that all beams of the set of multiple beams are idle until the back-off timer equals a predetermined amount. Data is transmitted at least one beam of the set of multiple beams based on the back-off timer equaling the predetermined amount.
