An electronic device is provided. The electronic device includes a display, at least one processor, a memory that is electrically connected to the at least one processor, and a display driver integrated circuit that is electrically connected to the at least one processor. The at least one processor is configured to receive a synchronization signal request corresponding to a first process initiated by the at least one processor from the at least one processor, determine whether the first process is for displaying an image in response to the synchronization signal request, and control an activation state of the display driver integrated circuit for displaying the image based on a determination result. The memory is configured to store instructions for the at least one processor to initiate and run the first process.

The electronic device includes a display, a display driver integrated circuit (DDI) including a clock generator and being operatively connected to the display, the DDI being configured to generate a hardware-based interrupt by using the clock generator, at least one processor operatively connected to the DDI, and a memory operatively connected to the at least one processor. The memory stores one or more instructions that, when executed, cause the at least one processor to receive a vertical synchronization (vsync) request associated with a frame displayed on the display, identify whether a software-based interrupt generated by an operation of the at least one processor is activated, and in response to determining that the software-based interrupt is not activated, prompt the DDI to activate the software-based interrupt without generating the hardware-based interrupt.

According to various embodiments, an electronic device includes a housing configured to house a battery; a display configured to be disposed in the housing, to be exposed through a portion of the housing, and to be electrically connected to the battery; a motion detection sensor circuit configured to be disposed in the housing and to be electrically connected to the battery; a power management circuit configured to be disposed in the housing and to be electrically connected to the battery; and a processor configured to be functionally or electrically connected to the motion detection sensor circuit and the display and to be electrically connected to the power management circuit through a switch that is turned on when the processor is in a first mode and turned off when the processor is in a second mode, wherein, in the second mode, the motion detection sensor circuit detects a motion associated with the electronic device, and provides image data to the display in response to the detection of the motion. Other embodiments are also possible.

Disclosed is an electronic device that may perform a procedure for activating a display simultaneously with a procedure for activating other components of the electronic device among procedures for driving the display, allowing for quick activation of the display after the display is released from the power saving mode. Methods utilizing the electronic device are also disclosed.
