Abstract: A method of compensating for degradation of a display device includes: determining a reference region including a part of a first display region and a second display region having pixel structures from each other; determining first stress data of first pixels based on a first average luminance value of the first pixels disposed on the part of the first display region; determining second stress data of second pixels based on a second average luminance value of the second pixels disposed on a central region of the second display region; determining third stress data of third pixels based on a third average luminance value of the third pixels disposed on an outer region of the second display region; compensating for degradation of the second pixels based on the first and second stress data, and compensating for degradation of the third pixels based on the first and third stress data.

Abstract: A method of driving a display panel that includes first and second display-regions includes: determining maximum luminance data among first data including first red data, first green data, and first blue data for the first display-region, calculating a threshold gray-level based on a luminance gain, a gray-level of the maximum luminance data, and a gamma value for the display panel, selecting a smaller value between the threshold gray-level and a maximum gray-level as a gain determination gray-level, calculating a compensation gain obtained by dividing the gain determination gray-level by the gray-level of the maximum luminance data, generating first compensated data by applying the compensation gain to the first data, displaying a first-image in the first display-region based on the first compensated data, and displaying a second-image in the second display-region based on second data including second red data, second green data, and second blue data for the second display-region.

Abstract: A method for driving an electroluminescent display device includes grouping pixels in a display panel into a plurality of pixel groups, each pixel group including a plurality of rows and a plurality of columns. Accumulated block stress values are provided based on input image data. Each accumulated block stress value represents a degree of degeneration of the pixels in each pixel block. Corrected stress values are provided by correcting each accumulated block stress value based on the accumulated block stress values of the adjacent pixel blocks. Input image data is corrected based on the corrected stress values.

The deterioration compensator generates an alpha value based on a ratio between a sensed current read from a portion of the display panel applied with a high power voltage or a portion of the display panel applied with a low power voltage and a predicted current calculated from the input image data and generates the data signal using the input image data, a stress value of a pixel, and the alpha value.
