Abstract: A display device includes: a switching element connected to a gate line and a data line; a liquid crystal capacitor including a pixel electrode that is connected to the switching element and a common electrode to which a common voltage is applied; and a storage capacitor including a first electrode that is connected to the switching element and a second electrode to which a storage voltage is applied. The display device is operable at a variable frame frequency between a maximum frame frequency and a minimum frame frequency. Capacitance of the storage capacitor is set according to a difference between the maximum frame frequency and the minimum frame frequency, and the storage voltage is greater than the common voltage by more than a predetermined level.

Abstract: A display apparatus includes a timing controller, a data driver and a display panel. The data driver generates a positive polarity data voltage and a negative polarity data voltage based on image data compensated by the timing controller. The display panel includes a first pixel driven based on the positive polarity voltage and a second pixel driven based on the negative polarity voltage. The display panel receives a storage voltage applied to the first pixel and the second pixel. The timing controller compensates the image data when a variation on a level of the storage voltage occurs. The compensation shifts a level of the first data voltage from a first normal level to a first compensation level in a direction, and shifts a level of the second data voltage from a second normal level to a second compensation level in the same direction.

Abstract: A display device includes pixels connected to gate lines and first and second data lines, dummy members extending in a first direction and disposed between adjacent pixels in a second direction crossing the first direction, and color filters extending in the second direction and overlapping pixels arranged in the second direction and disposed on the dummy members. A height of the color filters in step difference areas is larger than a height of the color filters in peripheral areas near the step difference areas.
