Abstract: Provided is a liquid crystal display including a plurality of pixels disposed in a matrix of pixel rows and pixel columns, the liquid crystal display including: a plurality of gate lines formed on a first substrate and disposed two between every pixel row; a plurality of data lines formed on the first substrate and disposed one between every two adjacent pixel columns; a common voltage line formed on the first substrate and extending in a pixel row direction along a vertical center of the pixel; and a plurality of pixel electrodes and common electrodes formed on the first substrate and overlapping with each other with an insulating layer therebetween, each pixel electrode positioned in a pixel, and in which two pixel electrodes in the two pixel columns disposed between two adjacent data lines among the plurality of data lines are both connected to any one of the two data lines.

Abstract: A display device includes a pixel component including scan lines, data lines, and pixels electrically connected to the scan lines and the data lines, and defining pixel columns and pixel rows, a data driver disposed on a side of the pixel component, and a scan driver disposed on the side of the pixel component. The pixel component includes sub-scan lines, and dummy lines. Each scan line may be electrically connected to the sub-scan lines by contacts. The contacts are divided into contact groups having a same arrangement. The pixel component is divided into pixel blocks corresponding to the contact groups. Each pixel block includes first and second area divided by contact group. The first area is closer to the scan driver than the second area. The pixel component further includes supplementary power lines spaced apart from the respective sub-scan lines.

Abstract: A liquid crystal display including a plurality of pixels that display an image, each pixel includes a thin film transistor that includes a gate electrode, a source electrode having a bar-shape and partially overlapping the gate electrode, and a drain electrode facing the source electrode at a location corresponding to the gate electrode, the drain electrode includes a first end portion having a C-shape that surrounds a distal end of the bar-shaped source electrode. This design eliminates an overlap between a data line and the gate electrode, which eliminates an overlap between the data line and the channel area of a semiconductor layer, which reduces a parasitic capacitor of the data line, resulting in less current to drive the data line, resulting in reduced power consumption of the display.
