Abstract: An infrastructure equipment forming part of a wireless communications network is provided. The infrastructure equipment comprises transceiver circuitry configured to transmit signals to and to receive signals from communications devices via a wireless access interface provided by the wireless communications network, and controller circuitry. The controller circuitry is configured in combination with the transceiver circuitry to determine a delay time for each of a plurality of communications devices, the delay time being a time taken for the each of the communications devices to receive signals transmitted by the infrastructure equipment, to set a playback time dependent on a longest of the delay times among the plurality of communications devices, the playback time being a time at which one or more of the communications devices should transmit a signal, and to transmit signals to each of the communications devices, the signals comprising an indication of the playback time.

Abstract: A method for operating an infrastructure equipment forming part of a wireless communications network is provided. The wireless communications network comprises a base station and a non-terrestrial network part, the non-terrestrial network part transmitting one or more spot beams to provide a wireless access interface for transmitting signals to and receiving signals representing data from a communications device within a coverage region of a cell or one of the spot beams, the spot beam forming a cell. The method comprises transmitting, to the communications device, an indication of a first condition to be met before the communications device should transmit assistance information to the infrastructure equipment, receiving the assistance information from the communications device upon the first condition being met, determining, based on the assistance information, that a cell change of the communications device should be initiated, and initiating the cell change of the communications device.

Abstract: There is provided a method of transmitting downlink control-related information to a terminal in a wireless telecommunications system. The method comprises allocating downlink resources in a first set of resources for sending the downlink control-related information; determining that a further downlink transmission will be transmitted using at least part of the allocated downlink resources thereby identifying a collision between the downlink control-related information transmission and the further downlink transmission; upon identifying a collision, allocating a second set of resources for sending the downlink control-related information; and transmitting the downlink control-related information using at least the second set of resources.

Abstract: A receiver for detecting and recovering payload data from a received signal comprises a radio frequency demodulation circuit, a detector circuit and a demodulator circuit. The radio frequency demodulation circuit detects the received signal. The received signal carries the payload data as OFDM symbols in one or more of a plurality of time divided frames, each frame including a bootstrap signal, a preamble signal and a plurality of sub-frames. The demodulator circuit detects bootstrap OFDM symbols to identify communications parameters for detecting the fixed length signalling data, detects the fixed length signalling data to identify the communications parameters for detecting the variable length signalling data, detects the variable length signalling data, and uses the fixed and variable length signalling data to detect the payload data.

Abstract: A receiver comprises a radio frequency demodulation circuit configured to detect and to recover a received signal. The received signal includes in one or more frames a preamble comprising a plurality of bootstrap OFDM symbols. A first of the bootstrap OFDM symbols has a first time domain structure configured so that a receiver can synchronise to a useful part of the bootstrap OFDM symbols and one or more of the other bootstrap OFDM symbols have at least a second time domain structure and carry layer one signalling data indicating parameters for detecting and recovering payload data carried by the one or more frames. The receiver comprises a detector circuit configured to detect from one or more of the bootstrap OFDM symbols a synchronisation timing and an inverse Fourier transformer configured to convert the temporal length of the bootstrap OFDM symbols or the payload OFDM symbols from the time domain into the frequency domain in accordance with the identified synchronisation timing. The detection circuit includes a first correlator adapted to the first time domain structure of the first bootstrap OFDM symbol and one or more second correlators adapted to the second time domain structure of the one or more other bootstrap OFDM symbols, one or more delay units configured to delay a first correlation result produced by the first correlator and the at least one second correlation result produced by the one or more second correlators so that the correlation results are produced contemporaneously for the first and the one or more other bootstrap OFDM symbols

Abstract: A transmitter transmits payload data using Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexed (OFDM) symbols, the transmitter including a frame builder to receive the payload data and to receive signalling data for use in detecting and recovering the payload data at a receiver, and to form the payload data into data-units for transmission. A modulator modulates plural sub-carriers of one or more OFDM symbols with the signalling data and the payload data in accordance with a modulation scheme to provide for each of plural sub-carriers a modulation symbol, a prefixing circuit prefixes a guard interval to the one or more OFDM symbols, and a transmission circuit transmits the one or more OFDM symbols. The modulator includes an I/Q interleaver to receive a real component of the modulation symbol of each of the one or more sub-carriers and to interleave the real component of the modulation symbols differently to the imaginary component.
