Provided is a method, performed by a device, of recognizing content, the method including selecting a template to be used for recognizing content displayed on the device when a type of a content service that provides the content to the device is determined; capturing a screen of the device when a control signal is received by the device; determining whether the captured screen corresponds to a gateway page; determining whether the captured screen corresponds to the selected template when the captured screen corresponds to the gateway page; and generating a template corresponding to the content service, based on the captured screen, when the captured screen does not correspond to the selected template.

Example embodiments relate to a system and method for searching for a new material. The example method includes acquiring a substitution tendency matrix X including substitution tendency data of ions based on existing crystal structure data, calculating an ion property matrix U by applying a symmetric matrix factorization model to the substitution tendency matrix X, acquiring substitution tendency prediction data based on the calculated ion property matrix U, and calculating probabilities of substitution of new crystal structures based on the substitution tendency prediction data.

An artificial intelligence (AI) system and application thereof, where the AI system simulates functions (e.g., recognition and judgment of the human brain) by using a machine learning algorithm like deep learning. In particular, an AI system and a method of providing content based on applications thereof are provided. The method includes obtaining, by an electronic device, a plurality of images included in content; and determining a time point for displaying an advertisement reproduced in synchronization with the content, based on at least one of a type of the content, image characteristics of the plurality of images, and a viewing pattern of a user.
Abstract:
Apparatuses and methods for reproducing an image in a plurality of displays are provided. The method includes obtaining a display identifier that identifies a position of a display among the plurality of displays, based on information on an arrangement of the plurality of displays transmitted by the image reproduction control apparatus; obtaining an image segment to be reproduced in a display corresponding to the display identifier among the plurality of displays, from the image; determining the importance factor of the image segment based on at least one of the image and the viewing environment of the plurality of displays; generating an encoded image segment by encoding the image segment according to an encoding method corresponding to the importance factor; and transmitting a bitstream including the display identifier, the importance factor and the encoded image segment to the image reproduction control apparatus.

A method of determining whether to switch off a base station's own power in the base station within a cellular network may comprise: receiving terminal messages having real number values from terminals within cell coverage of the base station; calculating real number values of base-station messages individually regarding the terminals based on the received terminal messages; transmitting the base-station messages having the calculated real number values individually to the terminals; repeatedly performing the receiving, the calculating, and the transmitting until the calculated real number values of the base-station messages are converged to constant values; when the real number values of the base-station messages are converged, calculating a base-station message convergence value, which is one real number value regarding the terminals, based on the converged real number values of the terminal messages; and/or determining whether to switch off the base station's own power based on the base-station message convergence value.

A device may include a receiver configured to receive messages about first transmission rates provided by cooperation devices configured for device-to-device (D2D) communications in a radio communication system supporting the D2D communications; a determiner configured to determine second transmission rates for the device to suggest to the cooperation devices based on the first transmission rates; and/or a transmitter configured to transmit messages about the second transmission rates to the cooperation devices. The determiner may be further configured to change the second transmission rates until the first transmission rates converge. The present disclosure relates to an electronic device for capturing a plurality of images using a plurality of cameras, generating a left-eye-view spherical image and a right-eye-view spherical image by classifying each of the plurality of images as a left-eye-view image or a right-eye-view image, obtaining depth information using the generated left-eye-view spherical image and right-eye-view spherical image, and generating a 360 degree three-dimensional image, wherein the three-dimensional effect thereof is controlled using the obtained depth information, and an image processing method therefor.
