Abstract: Systems and techniques are described herein for an adaptive camera preview frame rate. For example, a computing device can compare a current image frame of a scene with a previous image frame of the scene. The computing device can determine whether the scene comprises an idle scene scenario based on comparing the current image frame with the previous image frame. The computing device can adjust a preview frame rate based on determining that the scene comprises an idle scene scenario

Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure are directed to rotation of the graphics layer in video application. In accordance with one aspect, the apparatus includes a memory configured for storing a video layer in a compressed format and the graphics layer in an uncompressed format; and a display processing unit (DPU) coupled to the memory, the DPU configured for converting the graphics layer into an original compressed graphics layer, and for performing a graphics rotation on the original compressed graphics layer for generating a rotated compressed graphics layer. And, the method for rotation of a graphics layer includes converting the graphics layer into an original compressed graphics layer using a processing engine; and generating a rotated compressed graphics layer by using the processing engine to perform a graphics rotation on the original compressed graphics layer.

Abstract: Systems and techniques are described herein for adjusting settings for capturing images. For instance, a method for adjusting settings for capturing images is provided. The method may include receiving a first frame from an image sensor; determining that the first frame is overexposed based on the first frame including a brightness value greater than a threshold; adjusting image-capture settings of the image sensor for a plurality of frames such that each frame of the plurality of frames is captured using a different exposure setting of a plurality of exposure settings; comparing at least one frame of the plurality of frames to the threshold to determine an anchor frame from the plurality of frames, wherein the anchor frame includes a brightness value below the threshold; and adjusting the image-capture settings of the image sensor based on an exposure setting of the anchor frame.

Abstract: Systems, methods and computer-readable mediums may be used in portable computing devices (PCDs) for dynamically allocating system resources in a way that prevents or lessens degradation of power and performance KPIs while also avoiding temperature increases in the PCD that can create unpleasant user experiences. A smart resource allocation framework (SRAF) is triggered when a call is received or placed. Once triggered, the SRAF framework monitors a preselected set of state conditions to determine whether or not to place the wireless modem in a modem power-performance (Mod. Pow.-Perf) mode. If it determines that modem is to be placed in the Mod. Pow.-Perf. mode, a Mod. Pow.-Perf. process is performed dynamically allocates system resources and preferably also triggers a thermal framework that performs power reduction in one or more non-modem processing cores.
