Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods and apparatuses for intelligent connectivity switching techniques. The techniques include, for example, determining that a wireless connection is encrypted, and in response to determining that the wireless connection is encrypted, employing one or more intelligent connectivity switching mechanisms to ensure a desirable level of user experience may be maintained and data stall conditions may be avoided or overcome. When a wireless station is in an area where two radio access technology (RAT) connections are present, the intelligent connectivity switching mechanisms can include responding to a user interface prompt, evaluating one or more signal-to-noise (SNR)-related metrics, or comparing an application, task or activity to a whitelist.

Abstract: Systems, methods and computer-readable mediums may be used in portable computing devices (PCDs) for dynamically allocating system resources in a way that prevents or lessens degradation of power and performance KPIs while also avoiding temperature increases in the PCD that can create unpleasant user experiences. A smart resource allocation framework (SRAF) is triggered when a call is received or placed. Once triggered, the SRAF framework monitors a preselected set of state conditions to determine whether or not to place the wireless modem in a modem power-performance (Mod. Pow.-Perf) mode. If it determines that modem is to be placed in the Mod. Pow.-Perf. mode, a Mod. Pow.-Perf. process is performed dynamically allocates system resources and preferably also triggers a thermal framework that performs power reduction in one or more non-modem processing cores.

Abstract: Systems, methods and computer-readable mediums may reduce CPU power costs in a portable computing device (PCD). When logic of the PCD determines that the PCD enters a static display read mode while running an App or an Internet web browser, it determines (1) if display key performance indicator (KPI) headroom of the PCD indicates that cost-saving actions can be performed without degrading visual performance and (2) if there is an active display buffer submission. If the answer to (1) is yes and (2) is no, the logic analyzes hysteresis statistics associated with the CPU entering and exiting low power mode (LPM) to calculate a total number of CPU LPM entries and exits during a preselected time window. The total number is compared to a preselected threshold (TH) value and one or more power cost-saving actions are performed if the total number exceeds the preselected TH value.

Abstract: A method for memory management is described. The method includes detecting entry of a mobile device into a deep sleep state. The method also includes monitoring a hysteresis counter of entry into the deep sleep state relative to a time period of the mobile device in the deep sleep state to compute a hysteresis statistical threshold. The method further includes comparing the hysteresis statistical threshold to a threshold configuration value. The method also includes adjusting memory management of the mobile device and/or frequency scaling when the hysteresis statistical threshold is greater than the threshold configuration value.
