Abstract: Disclosed are systems, apparatuses, processes, and computer-readable media for wireless communications. For example, a process can include receiving, from a network entity, synchronization information associated with a first set of periodic advertisements (PAs). A first time offset from a reference time can be determined based on the synchronization information, wherein the reference time is associated with synchronization of a plurality of wireless communication devices including the wireless communication device. A second set of PAs can be transmitted at a synchronized time based on the reference time and the first time offset, each PA of the second set of PAs including a constant tone extension (CTE).

Abstract: Disclosed are systems, apparatuses, processes, and computer-readable media for wireless communications. In one illustrative example, a first network device for wireless communication can receive, from a second network device, a synchronization message comprising synchronization information. The first network device can determine clock information based on the synchronization information. The first network device can generate a clock update command based on the clock information. The first network device can further transmit the clock update command to one or more wireless communication devices associated with the first network device. The first network device can apply the clock information to a clock of the first network device such that the first network device is synchronized with the second network device.

Abstract: Various embodiments include methods for rotating a control node role among devices in a control cluster of a wireless mesh network. Methods may include assuming the control node role by a first device based on a control node assumption timing in a schedule, and transmitting periodic messages to support the wireless mesh network. Methods may further include using the schedule to identify a control node role end timing and a third device in the control cluster that will assume the control node role, transmitting the periodic messages while monitoring for an extended advertisement from the third device after the control node role end timing until the extended advertisement from the third device is received, and assuming a passive node role upon receiving the extended advertisement from the third device or continuing the control node role when no extended advertisement is received from the third device.

Abstract: Systems and techniques are provided for wireless communications. A Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) observation can be obtained based on an energizing signal and a plurality of backscatter signals from a plurality of RFID tags. Each backscatter signal can indicate an identifier of a respective RFID tag uniquely associated with a particular item of a plurality of items. Expected background noise information, indicative of a subset of the plurality of items for the RFID observation, can be determined based on comparing a location of a wireless communication device and item placement information for the plurality of items. The RFID observation can be filtered using the expected background noise information to exclude information associated with the subset of the plurality of items. A basket content estimation can be determined from the filtered RFID observation, wherein the basket content estimation is indicative of one or more collected items of the plurality of items.

Abstract: Disclosed are systems, apparatuses, processes, and computer-readable media for wireless communications. For example, a wireless communication device can receive an energizing signal from an energizer and can harvest energy from the energizing signal. The wireless communication device can synchronize, based on one of the energizing signal or a beacon signal, timing for a timing schedule associated with the wireless communication device. The wireless communication device can transmit a signal according to the timing schedule associated with the wireless communication device.

Abstract: Disclosed are systems, apparatuses, processes, and computer-readable media for wireless communications. For example, a process can include determining, by a network entity, a handover candidate wherein the handover candidate is a wireless communication device of a plurality of wireless communication devices associated with the network entity. The network entity can transmit to each network device of a plurality of network devices, channel information and scheduling information associated with the handover candidate and can receive, from each network device of the plurality of network devices, energy information associated with a pre-determined packet received by each network device of the plurality of network devices. The network entity can determine a target network device for a handover associated with the handover candidate based on the received energy information.

Abstract: Disclosed are techniques for asset tracking. In an aspect, an asset tracking coordination component estimates a time of a beacon transmission from a wireless energy charging-capable device coupled to an asset within a threshold proximity of a scanning device based on an estimated distance between the asset tracking coordination device and the scanning device and timing information associated with a wireless energy transmission, and schedules a beacon scanning window for the scanning device to scan for the beacon transmission based on the estimated time. In a further aspect, a scanning device may both provide a wireless energy transmission and may also scan for beacon transmission(s) from wireless energy charging-capable device(s) during a beacon scanning window.

Abstract: Disclosed are systems and techniques for wireless communications. For example, a network device can divide a data package into a plurality of segments. The network device can transmit, to a plurality of wireless communication devices, a broadcast message indicating a first time to start receiving a plurality of subframes comprising the plurality of segments, a total number of the plurality of segments, and a total number of the plurality of subframes for the data package. The network device can transmit, to the plurality of wireless communication devices starting at the first time, the plurality of subframes comprising the plurality of segments.

Abstract: According to various aspects and techniques to enable methods and systems for a first communication device to determine an approximate number of other communication devices that have lost contact with a host communication device. This includes determining a common future time window using a last known global time stamp and determining a transmit time within the common future time window. This also includes receiving samples that are captured during the common future time window on a predefined communication channel, as well as analyzing the received samples to estimate the total number of other communication devices.
