Abstract: The apparatus receives a first PDU and a first CRC that is based on the first PDU. The first PDU is encrypted based on a first nonce. The apparatus decrypts the first PDU to obtain a first payload and a first cipher stream. The apparatus soft combines the decrypted first payload with a decrypted set of payloads. The set of payloads have been encrypted based on at least one nonce different than the first nonce. The apparatus generates a second CRC based on the soft combined decrypted payloads and based on the first cipher stream. The apparatus determines whether the generated second CRC for the soft combined decrypted payloads passes a CRC check against the first CRC.

Abstract: Methods and apparatuses for establishing a wireless connection are disclosed. In an embodiment, a first communication device transmits a first advertising signal for a first period of time, the first advertising signal configured to advertise that the first communication device is available to establish a first wireless connection, scans for a second advertising signal for a second period of time, the second advertising signal transmitted by a second communication device and configured to advertise that the second communication device is available to establish a second wireless connection, and listens for a third signal for a third period of time, the third signal transmitted by a third communication device in response to the first advertising signal, the third period of time occurring during the second period of time.

Abstract: A first device may establish, with a second device, a first logical link associated with short-range communications. The first device may detect the transmission of a first packet from a master device to the second device carried on a second logical link. The first device may decode at least part of the first packet comprising data intended for the first device. The first device may transmit, to the second device, a request for a re-transmission of the first packet when the first device fails to decode at least part of the first packet. The first device may receive, from the second device, at least one re-transmission of the first packet. The first device may apply an error correction operation on the at least one re-transmission of the first packet received from the second device and the first packet received from the master device.

Abstract: A first device may establish, with a second device, a logical link associated with short-range communications. The first device may receive a first packet carried on the logical link. When the first PDU data fails the decoding check, the first device may determine, based on the logical link, a first operational mode from a plurality of operational modes for error correction, the first device may receive a set of retransmission packets on the logical link, each of the set of retransmission packets including respective PDU data that is a retransmission of the first PDU data, and the first device may apply, based on the first PDU data included in the first packet and the respective PDU data included in each of the set of retransmission packets, the first operational mode for error correction.
