Abstract: Methods and systems for providing information associated with a location history of a mobile device to one or more applications are disclosed. A mobile device generates one or more location history records based on one or more locations of the mobile device, each location history record comprising one or more points of interest and a duration at the one or more points of interest, receives an information request from at least one application, determines a subset of the one or more location history records that meet criteria from the information request, determines a level of permission for the at least one application based on the information request and the subset of the one or more location history records, and provides information associated with the subset of the one or more location history records to the at least one application based on the level of permission.

Abstract: Various embodiments may include methods executed by processors of computing devices for geometry based work execution prioritization. The processor may receive events, such as images. The processor may overlay a boundary shape on the event to identify discard regions of the event lying outside the boundary shape. The processor may identify work regions of the events lying within the working boundary shape. The devices may determine a cancellation likelihood for each of the identified work regions of the events. The processor may assign a trimming weight to each of the identified work regions based on the determined cancellation likelihoods. The processor may then add each of the identified work regions as a work item to an execution work list in an order based on the assigned trimming weights. The work items may be processed in order of trimming weight priority.

Abstract: A method performed by an electronic device is described. The method includes receiving a set of image frames. The set of image frames includes a face. The method also includes determining at least one facial motion of the face based on the set of image frames. The method further includes determining, based on the at least one facial motion, a facial rigidity confidence value indicating a degree of confidence that the face is rigid. The method additionally includes determining at least one facial micro-motion of the face based on the set of image frames. The method also includes determining a micro-motion matching confidence value indicating a degree of matching between the at least one facial micro-motion and a micro-motion profile. The method further includes authenticating a user based on the facial rigidity confidence value and the micro-motion matching confidence value.

Abstract: Various embodiments may include methods executed by processors of computing devices for geometry based work execution prioritization of irregular shapes on a computing device. Various embodiments may include calculating cost functions for an irregularly shaped work region detected by the computing device. The processor may map the irregularly shaped work region to a geometrically-bounded first work region within an N-dimensional space. The processor may then assess the efficacy of implementing modification strategies such as merging work regions or splitting a large work region into sections. Two or more smaller work regions may be merged to create a larger work region that may be more easily processed by a processing unit. Similarly, large shapes may be split into multiple smaller regularly shaped work regions that may be processed by different processors.

Abstract: Methods and devices are described for optimizing display of information such as map data on a mobile device. Certain embodiments may include receiving, at a mobile device, a first and second set of placement data associated with a first and second object. The mobile device may then determine overlap between a representation of the first object and the second object in a rendering of an image comprising the representation of the first object and the second object, using a set of viewing parameters, the first set of placement data and the second set of placement data. The set of viewing parameters may be adjusted to reduce overlap between the representation of the first object and the second object in the rendering of the image. In additional embodiments, 3D enhancements to two-dimensional map objects may be added to enhance the presentation of the information.

Abstract: A gateway device may control access to content based, at least in part, on an audience that will consume the content. In relation to a request for content to be delivered to a media output device, the gateway device may obtain biometric data from one or more trait capture devices having a physical relation to the media output device. The gateway can determine the potential audience of the content and enforce content restrictions based on the audience. The content restrictions may be based on one or more content attributes about the content and one or more audience traits about the audience. The gateway may use thresholds associated with the audience trait to determine whether the content attribute is appropriate for the audience. The threshold or a combination of thresholds may provide for granular control of access to content.

Abstract: Systems, apparatus and methods disclosed herein facilitate mobile station (MS) location determination using MS captured images of known points of interest (POIs). In some embodiments, each POI is associated with a corresponding visibility map comprising a set of grid points, and a subset of the POIs may be identified from the MS captured images by matching the MS captured images of each POI in the subset with corresponding stored images. A cumulative grid point weight for a plurality of grid points in the visibility maps associated with the POIs in the subset may be computed. The cumulative grid point weight for each grid point represents the probability that the MS is located at that grid point. The location of the MS may be estimated based on the cumulative grid point weights of the plurality of grid points.
