Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for retransmission of sidelink transmissions using network coding. A transmitting device transmits a transport block and a request for a NC encoding device to retransmit the transport block to a plurality of UEs. The NC encoding device transmits a packet encoding a plurality of transport blocks previously transmitted by one or more transmitting devices. The NC encoding device receives a plurality of acknowledgments (ACK) or negative acknowledgments (NACK) for the plurality of transport blocks from the plurality of UEs. The NC encoding device determines whether a respective transport block has satisfied an ACK condition based on the plurality of ACKs or NACKs from the plurality of UEs. The NC encoding device transmits an acknowledgment message to the one or more transmitting devices for at least the respective transport block.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A scheduling device may indicate that a transmit power remains constant for a duration of time. A transmitting user equipment (UE) may transmit reference signals on dedicated resources for automatic gain control (AGC) training. As the transmit power from the transmitting UE may remain constant, a receiving UE may determine an AGC configuration for current and subsequent transmissions based on measurements made on the dedicated resources. By using a prior transmission to determine an AGC configuration for a current transmission, a training symbol may not be included in each slot. A symbol formerly used for AGC training in the current transmission may be used to carry sidelink information.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) and multiple network coding devices may communicate to reduce multiple network coding devices accepting a same take over request message from the UE for a given data packet. In some examples, the multiple network coding devices may determine respective backoff periods to wait before accepting the take over request message such that each backoff period is different for each network coding device. In some examples, the UE may receive respective broadcast messages from each of the multiple network coding devices that indicate a network coding capability parameter, and the UE may select a network coding device based on the received capability parameter. In some examples, a network coding device may transmit an indication of packet overload and refrain from accepting a take over request message.

A first UE may transmit a first sidelink grant transmission to a second UE with a resource reservation for a second sidelink grant transmission from the first UE. Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods and apparatus, including computer storage media, for retransmission of sidelink transmissions using network coding with binned feedback. A transmitting device transmits a transport block and a request for a network coding (NC) encoding device to retransmit the transport block to a plurality of user equipment (UEs). The UEs decode the transport block and report an acknowledgment (ACK) or negative acknowledgment (NACK) on a physical sidelink feedback channel (PSFCH) resource associated with a bin for the UEs. The NC encoding device decodes the PSFCH resource for each bin to determine an ACK or NACK status for each bin, and determines whether to encode the transport block in a NC combination packet. The UEs receive the NC combination packet including an encoding of a subset of transport blocks. The receiving devices transmit an ACK or NACK on a PSFCH resource for a bin for each transport block.
