Abstract: A system, method and device for notifying designated recipients about a personal emergency. An individual maintains a personal emergency alert device (PEAD) in accessible proximity. The PEAD is activated by onboard or remote sensor(s) in proximity to the PEAD. The sensor(s) monitor the occurrence of an emergency activation event. PEAD includes a controller. The controller, triggered by detection of an emergency event by a sensor, activates a geolocation module to obtain geolocation information, formulates an alert message, establishes a network connection, and transmits the message with geolocation information to a personal emergency alert notification service (PEANS). PEANS responds by sending a text, email or other emergency notification to designated notification recipient(s). Once activated, PEAD periodically tracks and transmits its geolocation until it runs out of power. Alternatively, PEAD can be deactivated by sending a deactivation code to the PEANS, which in turn instructs such PEAD to deactivate.

Abstract: Apparatuses, methods, services, and systems which monitor and track location of Automated External Defibrillator (AED) equipment are disclosed. The AED location can be identified with manual descriptive information during installation as well as with ongoing location tracking using electronic means. The invention includes a feature to identify if the AED is physically moved. Other embodiments of this invention relate to the use of a software application that will show the availability of the AED device on a map or other means to disseminate this information to a potential user and advise the owner or designated party that the device has been physically moved.

Abstract: An automated external defibrillator (AED) monitoring service receives through a network communication from a remote AED monitoring device that senses conditions at a remote AED. The AED monitoring service receives alert messages from the remote AED monitoring device which alert the AED monitoring service to detection of sensed condition events at the remote AED. The AED monitoring service may send to designated notification recipients a notification message indicating occurrence of the sensed event at the monitored remote AED. The AED monitoring service communicates with the remote AED monitoring device only upon initiation of communications by the remote AED monitoring device, and upon initiation may request data from, or send data or control information to, the remote AED monitoring device. At the end of the communications sequence, the AED monitoring service signals the remote AED monitoring device to place itself into a low-power mode.

Abstract: Described embodiments provide a crimp connector with hooks to hold a flat flexible cable (FFC). The crimp connector includes a bottom body and multiple hooks protruding outward from and coupled to the bottom body to hold the FFC. The crimp connector also includes a top clasp hingably mounted to the bottom body having multiple barbs internally mounted therein. Each of the barbs correspond with an uninsulated flat conductor of the FFC. In response to the top clasp engaging with the bottom body such that a slotted wedge of the top clasp presses the corresponding one of the first and second uninsulated flat conductors against the corresponding barbs, the crimp connector makes an electrical connection between each of the barbs and the corresponding one of first and second uninsulated flat conductors.
